The real question is, can it match the cinematic mastery of "Howling III: The Marsupials"?

At least they're not remaking the first five. (sarcasm)
One question for this sequel........why???
Howling was never top tier horror to start with.?.?.?
Another clunker they'll make for ten bucks just so they can make a few million off the people that will see it over the weekend.

Haha I had forgotten about the marsupials. I have no problem with a remake but that article looks like some grade D college students first photoshop class project.

THE HOWLING

HOWLING II: YOUR SISTER IS A WEREWOLF (aka HOWLING II aka HOWLING II: STRIEBA WEREWOLF B-I-T-C-H)

HOWLING III: THE MARSUPIALS

HOWLING IV: THE ORIGIONAL NIGHTMARE

HOWLING V: THE REBIRTH

HOWLING VI: THE FREAKS

and now they plan THE HOWLING 7: THE REBORN. If the Howling V was subtitled REBIRTH, what's being reborn now.

I think some young kids who weren't even born when THE HOWLING was released just decided to do "Another Howling Movie."

This generation of filmmakers makes me feel like the filmmakers grew-up AFTER MTV stopped playing music videos.

At least, even the MTV music videos used to "pay homage" to various movies and "drop knowledge" about "stuff."

Now MTV is basically airing very self-centered, narcissistic Reality Shows, where the people act as if Life and History BEGAN with THEM and Life and History totally REVOLVES around THEM.

Well, "you" know how "you" used to talk to your parents and grand-parents about "stuff?" Filmmakers today didn't really talk about stuff and things with their parents and grand-parents.

TV "talked" to the filmmakers that's about it; and the filmmakers talk to their friends who also "learned" about "stuff" from TV.

(so we may see a HOWLING movie where the filmmakers are totally unaware there was an original HOWLING movie in the first place.)

I guess author Gary Bradner will get more royalty checks. Gary Bradner said Joe Dante killed his book. If you read the books (THE HOWLING; THE HOWLING II; THE HOWLING III), you'll see that the movie is a lot better than the book (funnier and more insightful)--Karen's raped in the book and The Colony actually is like a small town and I don't remember Karen being an anchor-woman in the book. The ending of THE HOWLING the movie is CLASSIC Horror . . . TOTALLY.

The Howling was the best modern werewolf movie ever. The best transformation scenes ever. Rob Botten is a genius.

The Vampire well has run dry. Time to tap into Werewolves again.

I disagree Sir, while a very good Werewolf movie and transformation I think An American Werewolf in Paris is the best werewolf movie/transformation ever, followed by The Howling, followed by Silver Bullet. I discounted The Wolfman with Lon Chaney Jr. because the transformation is severely dated.

If the studio rebooted this new version of "The Howling" it just might work because as the sequels progressed, it kept getting more ridiculous and very cheap.

Everyone seems to have forgotten Nicolson's masterpiece "Wolf".
I wonder when they're going to remake that turd.

You leave the Howling alone. Any series that allows me to connect Christopher Lee and John Carradine to Sybil Danning for 6 degree's of Kevin Bacon is alright by me.

Yeah, I still like the second one for the wonderous schlockiness of it.
