personally...i think the guy to his right, in that black get up...should be featured on the cover instead, but eh...i'm a bale fan so i'm biased. still, since Favreau is involved...i'm interested to see if its going to be a corny comic book movie...or an attempt at the real thing. thats what seperates Begins from all the other comic movies, the lack of crap lines and corniness. only Favreau project i've seen that i was disappointed in was...Made. wow, Swingers 2...uh...i don't think so.

The whole Civil War storyline has tarnished Iron Man in my opinion, but the movie does seem to be heading the right direction. Between casting and visual effects seen thus far I can't complain. Plus I did enjoy Zathura and it was good to take my little brother to a movie that we both could enjoy.

Good picture. At least they haven't screwed up Iron Man's looks. Now let's see if they can stick to the character or not. Chances are they'll do something stupid like make him a kid (appeal to the 12-yr olds), that stumbles across the suit in some millionare's house, or some other retarded change.

I'm just wondering how much the halloween version of this suit will cost. That would be flippin' cool to show up to some party in that suit, haha. Everything looks great so far on this movie. Has anyone seen the recent animated movie? I thought it was pretty cool, I could see it beefed up and turned into a live-action. I wonder if Favreau's follows its plot in any way.

Ignorant as I may be to what has been released about this film. I'm not nearly as uninformed about the trashing of other comic book movies. This is where my assertions are based. I'd absolutely love to be wrong and am pleased that my rough guess at what they could screw up with this movie is incorrect. I think that expecting this movie to be a well-made movie that follows its source material in a reasonable manner is a less probable assertion to what I just made, based on the (majority) crap comic book movies that have been pumped out.

I think we may see a change in that trend now that Marvel is making the movies themselves. Don't get me wrong I don't think Avi Arad is above making changes and lets be honest some changes need to be made...Yellow spandex would have looked ridiculous on a live action Wolverine, but I think more of a concerted effort will be made to stay closer to the source material. I thought the new FF movie for all it's faults was much closer to the spirit of the FF than it's predecessor and also I know lots of people wanted to see it, but a 200ft tall man in a purple suit would have looked ridiculous as well.

Also, while you have a point about the innumerable bad comic adaptions, go back and look at the ones where they went to the trouble to get a talented cast, not just big names, but talented. Along with a director who was dedicated to the task and the percentage of bad to good goes way down. When they put that much effort and talent like it appears they're doing for Iron Man you get Batman Begins, The Crow, V for Vendetta. The only real bomb and some people will argue even that was Hulk...and League of Extraordinary Gentlemen. Though I enjoyed that actually and think the big mistake there was overestimating the general publics grasp of late 19th century literary characters.

Just out of curiosity, WHY would "yellow spandex" have "looked ridiculous" on Wolverine? The two best comic-book adaptations EVER (Spiderman and the original Superman) both had guys dressed up in "red spandex" and "blue spandex", respectively. There's nothing that kills a superhero movie faster than a Director that thinks superheroes are stupid and geeky, and therefore tries to make them "gritty" and "realistic". As much as I may have liked the X-Men movies, let's be honest here: what exactly is more homo-erotic: a bunch of guys wearing spandex, or a bunch of guys wearing leather bondage gear?

No, Maven. I think you're missing a BIG reason why the directors go gritty and realistic. Look what happened when Schumacher went camp. That was the single most distructive piece of superhero film ever.

And that is a nice photo. We keep getting nice photos on this picture and I think it should turn out to be a pretty good time if the script measures up.
