Okay...so Rambo's back on US soil. Here's what the 5th one should give us:

Rambo goes to Congress and wipes out the buttholes who got our country into a crippling recession? No good?

Maybe Rambo goes into therapy to work through his rage-a-holic issues. Cue a cameo from Dr. Phil. He transforms from a war-junkie to an environmental warrior as evidenced with his purchase of a new Prius. Film ends with Rambo working as an intern on 'The View' collecting coffee and latte's for the cast. Roll credits.

It is obvious that First Blood is the best Rambo movie that has been made. Despite that; I probably had the most fun watching the last installment. It just captured all of blood, guts and grit that I grew up with watching 80s action movies. The action movies of that time period were so over the top and admittedly cornball... but they were fun. RAMBO really brought that back for me... so I'm actually very excited for this fifth installment.

Normally I'd laugh at the idea of a 63 year old action hero but he still looks like he could break my arms and snap my neck without even breaking a sweat.

The greatest action star in the world is in his 60's and better than ever. That never ceases to amaze me.

Yeah well, Sly Stallone might look good for being 60 but he has been caught with steroids on a couple of occasions - if keeps going at this rate he's gonna have a heart attack before he reaches 64.

I do like the idea of bringing Rambo back home. I'm sure there are a few Townhall meetings that could benefit from his presence.

It just depressing, like watching an aged prize fighter clinging to his former glory. What's next, is Chuck Norris going to make another MIA?(props to Paul Haggis for bringing us Walker TR - this man has an academy award!?)

Best news I've read here for a loooooooooooooooooong time!

Sly is on fire, he listens to his fans, and John Rambo was freakin' best bloody action I've seen since action films' golden age.

AWESOME!!!!
we finally get to meet RAMBO's father. I love John Rambo the character ever since David Morrell's novel First Blood (where RAMBO died at the end)--

again (in the movie and the novel): the dynamics and levels of "evil" were explored: the sheriff is a police officer trying to protect his "anti-Vietnam Vet town" from the dead-beat vagarant John Rambo BUT by discrimminating against John Rambo, the sheriff proves himself to be more "un-American" than John Rambo. In First Blood the novel the sheriff whispers in Rambo's ear, "you might as well be black walking into this town like that." I LOVE IT!!!! (the blind, evil eyes of hick-ville America)

I remember seeing Rambo First Blood Part II in seventh grade!!!! Rambo 3 came-out right-after Platoon and I didn't like Rambo 3 at all after THE EXPERIENCE of Platoon (where people actually walked out of the theater because Platoon was so heart-wrenching).

RAMBO IV I LOVE A LOT . . . RAMBO comes in "out of nowhere" and saves the day at every turn (good and very bloody and very violent--i'm surprised it wasn't rated X or Nc-17)

Rambo's father? Are you kidding? Wouldn't his father be close to 100?

The first Rambo WAS a good movie, the second was ridiculous, but somewhat fun. I barely remember the third and never saw the last one. I really don't think there's a need for another one.

Pop out the steroids, Sly! You've gotta look buff again!

First Blood: Good but slow
Part II: Good but cheesy
Part III: Okay but boring
Part IV: Good but too bloody

Rambo movies are good for some simplistic action, but not too deep on plot. The first and fourth are the only ones that tug at your brain a little. Sly's old, but he can still do it. Good luck to numero Five-o!

In the bonus material interview to RAMBO, Stallone mentions that the first plot idea for RAMBO was to have rambo living in the US and going after the abducted daughter of his Mexican housekeeper, presumably taking on the drug cartells in South America. Since Rambo is now back in the USA, I'd say there's a pretty good chance that's where they'll go with 5.

I personally hugely enjoyed RAMBO, even though I've never been a big fan oof the series at all. the first is an intelligent action classic, II and II are laughably bad propaganda, but this latest one was just down and dirty, pedal to the floor extreme action. The gorehound in me rejoiced at that movie and I sincerely hope both The Expendables and RAMBO 5 go in the same OTT, gore-soaked direction.

Stallone is amazing. This and The Expendables just get me pumped for movies again. I also heard that the story might deal with some wierd cult kidnapping the girl Rambo is after, but who knows. Here's hoping the Mickey Rourke jumps on board as the villain as was rumored awhile back. Also, as far as Rambo going to town hall meetings that might be a little contradictory considering Stallone is one of the few celebrities with common sense and publicly endorsed John McCain for prez. He's a registered Republican. So I doubt he's in favor of the health care bill at all. And, seriously, could you see Rambo sticking up for scum like Barney Frank and Nancy Pelosi?

I say, OK! Hollywood should really rape the idea of old people kicking *** and stop pretending like Stallone isn't OLD. Bring out the gray hair and the senile arsenal.

The word is that it will follow the Mexican drug cartel storyline. That's actually promising. Potentially controversial as well.
