JUSTICE LEAGUE DISBANDED

I'm in Long Beach at the Speed Racer junket and I briefly cornered producer Joel Silver to ask him how the Justice League movie would affect Wonder Woman. The answer: it won't. According to Silver, who would be in the know, Justice League has been 'tabled.'That means a lot of you can breathe a sigh of relief; while 'tabled' doesn't mean the film is officially canceled, it's likely that it won't be happening any time soon, and likely without that cast.
As for Wonder Woman, Silver said it takes time to get these films made - he had Speed Racer in development for twenty years. He's still trying to get DC's Amazon on the screen but doesn't have much else to report right now.

Good riddance.

Pointless article. But Devin cornering Joel Silver must have looked like Devin cornering a fatter, more hairy but richer version of himself. Not as obnoxious or assholey though, and that's saying something. "What are you one of those fitness freaks...go fuck yourself".

Thank goodness. DC still hasn't gotten its game together in the movies yet. Nolan's Batman not withstanding.

I'm sure 'unknown user' up there has a great body. It's easy to rip on fat people when you hide behind your computer screen isn't it?

Man, I thought the talkbackers on AICN were assholes. They're fucking nuns compared to the dicks on here. Give Devin a fucking break. Didn't your mom teach you any manners? She must have been too busy sucking my cock.

Your cock, though small, delivered the goods Kris. Thanks.

I really hope this is true. There's no need for the studio to go ahead with this project at this stage. I say bring on the MOS and TDK. Let the rest follow...

There was nothing overly malicious or mean-spiroted about my post (comment #3). I wasn't insulting Devin for being fat, I was just describing him physically. Devin has never had a problem with calling himself fat and obnoxious before, which he has. Oh, and btw, making fun of people for being fat (which I wasn't) is more legitimate than making fun of any other kind of physicality. Unlike people who are disabled or have unfortunate illnesses, fat people have only themselves to blame. Eat healthy and get some fucking exercise. Obesity is only genetic for 2 % of people it 'aflicts'. So don't be overly-sensitive for Devin. If he's offended by anything I said he can let me know, and I'll refuse to apologise at the appropriate time.

I hate the Justice league, I hate DC and I hate Joel Silver but you gotta love that picture. Please don't let this be the last time it is used.

Crap. I really wanted a Justice League movie, and I wanted it now not 20 years from now.
OTOH, the rumored cast screamed "Danger!". Give us a better cast and I would have been so happy. Damn you WB, can't you get your superhero act together?

When Dev cornered Silver, I bet Silver thought "Ugh - A fan-boy!!"

I've answered your prayers. No more JLA movie. Praise me. Now if I could give Nick some sense of self awarness and/or some talent, that would truly be a miracle.

Good riddance. This was a terrible disaster to begin with.

That picture makes me laugh EVERYTIME! I too will miss seeing it!

A semi-animated JLA film with a bunch of fresh-faced WB/CW soap opera rejects, now shit-canned. Sweet. I only liked the idea of Common playing Green Lantern; the rest should go away and people cellphone commercials.

Hey Justice Fag of Fatmerica, lose some fucking weight and stop screwing men. I'm beginning to grow impatient.

Hey, why not get back Whedon's script for Wonder Woman? I'm sure there's still time.
Let Tim Minear direct :)

Sigh. This is pretty upsetting, actually.

This sucks. All the rumors about a crap script aside, I was very excited about a WETA-costumed Batman and Wonder Woman. I liked the casting of WW. I liked that the actor who would've been playing Bats was 6'5". I liked that this was another take that could co-exist next to Singer's and Nolan's universes and that the studio was open to having multiple coexisting takes on characters. And finally, George fuckin' Miller. The man is a visionary, not just a solid director. A true visionary. The Mad Max universe. Babe 2 Pig in the City was *dark* as hell, just like a fairy tale should be. Witches of Eastwick was a novel take on the book (though I didn't really care for either). Happy Feet pushed performance capture on the cutting edge. I don't care how bad JL looked as seen through the POV of sites like this and AICN... I know the Miller would have made something unique. No doubt he has a vision. We need more of those.

I'm Batman. (No really, I am) *sob*

If WB was *serious* about alternate universes, they would have cast Keaton and Welling in JLA. If Bale isn't in it, the audience is going to ask WTF? To really sell the idea of valid alternate universes, WB had to hit the audience over the head with it.
.
WB: "See both Bale and Keaton are Batman, but different Batmen in different universes. There is no Rachael Dawes here or Superman's bastard child. Get it?"
.
Audience: "Ok, so it's the old Batman and Smallville's Superman mixing it up? I think I get it."
.
Right now WB is trying to sell New Batman and New Superman who are unconnected to anything.
.
Audience: "So with Batman Begins being a prequel to Burton's Batman, is this new younger Batman a prequel to Batman Begins? A prequel to a prequel? Why isn't Superman's kid helping out, since the whole world is in danger and all the superpowered ones have to band together? How come Lois is flirting with Supes, what happened to her husband?"
.
WB: "Batman Begins isn't a prequel to anything and new younger Batman isn't a prequel to anything either. Superman doesn't have a kid in this movie."
.
Audience: "Where did the kid go? And I'm pretty sure Batman Begins was a prequel, at least I've been thinking that all these years."
.
WB: ::Headdesk:: "It's a different universe. It's the same characters of Batman and Superman that you know and love, but none of that stuff in other movies ever happened."
.
Audience: "But it's the real versions of Batman and Superman? Not evil Spock goatee versions right? And we know the real Batman started his career at 30 and the real Superman has a bastard child, so wouldn't this still be true in any real universes they were in? And wouldn't they look the same and be played by the same actors? I don't get it."
.
That's were WB is right now. The masses are simply not going to get it unless WB drops a nuclear clue bus on them. Keaton-verse Batman =/= Bale-verse Batman, but both are "real" Batmen. SV-verse Superman =/= SR-verse Superman, but both are "real" Supermen. Even the most boneheaded of audiences can understand that.
