Reviews for Kids
Clark has stepped back into objectivity so far that he has neglected his role as interpreter for us.
With his debut feature, Larry Clark has made an unpleasant film about a few repulsive characters who lead a fairly irredeemable existence.
A movie that pretends to be concerned with making an important social statement about modern youth, but which instead is just relentlessly in-your-face, wallowing in degradation to make a quick, controversial buck at the local multiplex.
Deeply shocking and disturbing, this film's hype exists for a reason.
Kids doesn't let itself or us off the hook; we're all responsible for what we see. And what we won't see.
Ostensibly about the banality of youthful evil, Kids is simply about its own banality.
No matter the interpretation, the film’s sensationalism is eerily frank no matter if it’s presented in good taste or not.
Kids shows what transpires when children are set adrift in a heartless world, and warns us what happens -- and is already happening -- in the absence of love and guidance.
Elocuente señal de alarma de lo que tenemos que brindarles a las nuevas generaciones: dirección, educación sexual y motivación
Kids is an emotional sucker punch, a raw, dirty, disturbing piece of cinéma vérité filmmaking that simultaneously hooks and repulses you from its opening scenes.
Kids, a disturbingly voyeuristic look at adolescent promiscuity, is virtually child pornography disguised as a cautionary documentary.
The script and especially the low quality of the acting makes you think you are watching a poor documentary of an extremely important subject.
It's uncomfortable to watch in the worst way, and unentertaining in the most annoying way.
