Is Tarantino Preparing Two "Kill Bill" Sequels?

Well, according to one source he sure seems to be ... maybe.

Reports indicate that producer Bennett Walsh had some things to say about "Kill Bill 3" and "Kill Bill 4" while attending the Shanghai Film Festival ... but I wouldn't get too excited just yet.

Apparently the two story-lines are set and there's a chance that Quentin Tarantino "may" return to China to helm the flicks ... maybe. But allegedly part 3 will deal with those Crazy 88s (specifically "the revenge of two killers whose arms and eyes were hacked by Uma Thurman in the first stories") and Part 4 will focus on the daughters of Vernita Green and that crazy blond woman.

Then again, as any fan of QT knows, he usually takes a long time getting started ... plus he always seems to have three movies in pre-pre-production at the same time. Still, a few more "Kills" wouldn't be too awful. Maybe by 2012.

In other Tarantino news, another source is reporting that he'll be doing sort of a remake of the old Shaw Brothers kung-fu flicks: "The director himself has said he expects to produce abstractions of the storylines from "One-armed Swordsman" or "Dubei Dao" and "The 36th Chamber of Shaolin" or "Shaolin 36 Fang."

You'd never know that QT has only directed 4.85 movies in his career. (Yes, 4.85. I counted "Reservoir Dogs," "Pulp Fiction," "Jackie Brown," and "Kill Bill" as one movie apiece, "Grindhouse" as a half, "Four Rooms" as a quarter, and he got 10% credit for "Sin City.")

Haha, 4.8 movies. I would probably count Death Proof a full movie just because of the fact that he made a full version that ran for 2 hrs and 20 minutes. Just my view.

Kool !!! I heard originally that a 3rd one would get made, but i read that it would be made when the little girl who-s mother(with the ceriel box) was killed by the bride, would be all grown up, and that she would take revenge on her.

guess thats what theyre doing but in the 4th one.

You cant have too much kill Bill. Although surely it wont be called that? THE BRIDE would be a good sequel name.

Hopefully there will be another show stealing Anime cartoon sequence in it somewhere.

I knew it the first time I saw that scene! My friends and I all said the same thing, "they are definitely going to revisit that story thread." High Fives all around!

I agree, I really want to see him do a WWII band of misfits movie. It would be great, I've been waiting for it for so long.

I don't know if I'd like a Kill Bill with Beatrix as an antagonist. And the idea of a circle of revenge seems silly. What, is Beatrix going to be killed in the end? Then I guess BB will have her own movie where she avenge's her mother's death and it'll create this huge cycle of revenge until they run out of characters. As much as I love Kill Bill, they should only make a sequel if Uma will be the protagonist again.

Kill Bill needs better closure
ok, the Kill Bills are definitely some of the most immensley entertaining pictures of late. That being said, Kill Bill 2 was not a satisfying finish for me. It ended too happy for a film about revenge. I got kind of the same feeling after watching Death Proof. I did not see Beatrix as a fun good girl protagonist, but more like a twisted and crossed assassin who wants to exact revenge, but should in turn receive what's coming to her.

Kill Bill 2 is very good, but that "pregnancy test" scene almost killed it for me.

He was talking about doing some KB spinoffs, like an anime about a young bil and whatnot.

But I would really like to see Inglorious Bastards out first.

To answer the topic question:
Short-term answer, no.
Long-term answer, who knows, but probably not.

Like you said, Tarantino has a ton of things on his plate at the same time, but he rarely (or ever?) gets them all completed. Remember when he wanted to do the Vega Brothers movie? Didn't I hear of a Beverly Hills Cop Tarantino movie that he wanted to do? And how he originally pitched the idea of Casino Royale, and wanted to direct it? Now he's got two Kill Bill sequels, Inglorious Bastards (the supposed six-hour movie...er...two three hour, three two hour movies?), and all of these martial arts remakes I've been hearing about.

It's a wonder that in five years (1992-1997), Tarantino put out Reservoir Dogs, Pulp Fiction, and the insanely underrated Jackie Brown, but in the next ten years, all he has to show is Kill Bill and Death Proof. Don't get me wrong, both are great, and I understand that Kill Bill must have took a lot out of him, but it's things like this that really tick me off about Tarantino. He sits here and talks and talks and talks about what he's going to do, but he never does it.

It doesn't help that after Pulp Fiction, everything he has done has been going downhill---not drastically, but downhill all the same. Jackie Brown was a little worse than Pulp Fiction, Kill Bill (in my opinion, and I think I'm one of the very few who believes this) was a little worse than Jackie Brown, and Death Proof was a little worse than Kill Bill.

Like I said, I get a little ticked off with this, and I lose a little bit of respect for him in that he's just being lazy. His supply isn't quite meeting his demand. His products are definitey fantastic when they are released, but show me a drought when Scorsese released two films in ten years. (And yes, I am aware that Scorsese doesn't write most of his films, but the point I'm trying to make is that he's out there being productive, and ol' QT is just sittin' around and doing nothing.)

All of this being said, to escape any bitterness, Tarantino is my favorite director. Every film he's made is in at least my top twenty, maybe fifteen. I just wish he'd stop being such a bastard and get on to making his movies...for his fans!

I love Tarantino, but Kill Bill sequels??? I hope he doesn't call them Kill Bill Vols. 3 and 4 cuz well, Thurman killed Bill. So different names would have to be used as titles if he makes them.

I kind of don't think you can say QT is sitting around doing nothing. One of the best aspects of his films are the writing and I'm sure he spends a great deal of time coming up with this crazy stuff and writing all this insanely good dialouge. The fact that he writes and directs I don't think it's that suprising that he's done less then 5 films in 15 years. and besides he wrote True Romance and Dusk til dawn...
but yeah lets see Iglourious Bastards first.

I don't think it would be a good idea to do any more KILL BILL movies. Volumes 1 & 2 made up a complete story, and I'm satisfied. I'd much rather see Tarantino do something different now.

Okay so two possible sequels...two anime prequels...and the uncut Whole Bloody Affair for America.

The sequels I will totally doubt until QT himself mentions them.

Right now I'm believing he is waiting for the new animations to be finished and pack them in with a ultimate four disk dvd rated nc-17. I guess we'll see.
