The various plotlines – several of which involve gay men – all involve chance meetings, missed connections and mistaken identifies, but from the confusion comes unexpected erotic interludes, new friendships, hot and bothered sexual escapades and romantic couplings. It’s gay, straight, young, old: there’s the 21-year-old movie director hopeful who is fresh off the bus and is picked up by a prostitute instead of his sister’s friend; Marga (Concha Velesco), an older woman who beds a male escort (Jesus Cabrero) only to discover that she may be related to him; a gay dance instructor whose personal encounter with a chat room guy offers sex and maybe even love; Sergio (Alberto San Juan), a virgin about to be married but befriended by a interested gay man; Silvia (Marce Pons), an aspiring actress who will do anything to get a part in a big musical. Amidst the heat, dreams are realized, clothing shed and romance triumphs! A rollicking, fast-paced comedy about finding your right partner, even if it means trying on a few beforehand. -- © TLA Releasing [More]

Light as flan, Km.O is a hopeful kindred spirit to other insouciant Spanish comedies.

One could easily argue that there are enough tangled plotlines here for several interesting films.

It's all rather familiar and sitcomy. But its silliness is its salvation.

The movie treats all its characters kindly -- especially in moments where it would be easy to go for the cheap shot -- but there's either not enough froth or meat on its bones to sate the appetite.

The stories don't resonate, the film has a drab look and feel, and it lacks the passionate zing with which the least of Almodovar's works teems.

It's a formula picture that will succeed or fail on the freshness of the details, and Kilometer Zero is a mixed bag.

Just one more of those romantic roundelays that depend too heavily on hopeless coincidence and contrivance to reach a happy ending.

The plot is contrived, the coincidences abound, but that does not diminish the nice, easy moments in this delightful free-spirited Midsummer's Night-like sex romp.

The bouncy, bright tune that drives the dancing credits also sets the toe-tapping tone: lighthearted, hopeful, harmless fun, with a little continental attitude.
