Lacks the clarity and identity of the earlier 1974 and 1986 installments.

Reviews for Leatherface: The Texas Chainsaw Massacre 3
It's certainly a cut above the standard late-'80s horror film, though hardly up to the level of Tobe Hooper's original.
Taken as a separate entity, this is a competently packaged horror movie that plays by the rules and delivers what the title promises: sadistic killers, whimpering victims, and chainsaws.
The blade is dull, but there's just enough to make it worth watching.
A failed attempt by New Line to reinvent the titular chainsawer into a Freddy Krueger-style villain.
It's really just another generic slasher flick with nothing beyond the Leatherface connection to recommend it to discerning fans.
For those who saw the first two Massacres, this will seem pretty much deja-boo!
Believe it or not, even horror movie fans like some meat in their stories. You should pardon the expression.
