This sequel to THE LIBRARIAN: QUEST FOR THE SPEAR finds Flynn Carsen (Wyle) leaving the bowels of the New York Public Library in search of the mythic mines of King Solomon. Oscar-winning actress Olympia Dukakis plays Carsen's concerned mother, with TV veterans Bob Newhart and Jane Curtin reprising their roles from the original film. Reviews for The Librarian: Return to King Solomon's Mines
Much of the time the action is mundane and uninvolving, and the mostly slapstick humor is devoid of many big laughs or smiles. Subtle it is not.
[G]ets even more, and more effective, mileage out of Flynn's sweet -- and sometimes inadvertent -- heroism, and out of the role-reversal of hero and heroine.
