I do not object to the filmmaker's desire to make a film of overwhelming cynicism about the Vatican power structure. I simply object to the film they have made.

Top CriticMonsignor manages to make itself the most extravagant piece of Hollywood junk since Mommie Dearest, for which the producer Frank Yablans and the director Frank Perry were also responsible.
