WB to Bring Nancy Drew Back to Cinematic Life
by Scott Weinberg | September 13, 2005
Discuss Article
It's only been about 60 years since the last Nancy Drew movie, but according to Variety, WB is planning to cast Eric Roberts' daughter in "Nancy Drew: The Mystery in Hollywood Hills."

Written by Tiffany Paulsen and inspired by the resoundingly popular book series by Carolyn Keene, "Drew" will be directed by "The In-Laws" helmer Andrew Fleming.

The story will focus on "Nancy Drew as she travels to L.A. with her father and stumbles upon evidence involving the long-unsolved death of a glamorous movie star. Nancy's practical nature and resourcefulness are put to the test when dealing with the self-indulgent world of Hollywood.

"Warners made four 'Nancy Drew' movies in the late 1930s, all directed by William Clemens."

She was good in the series and a very pretty girl. But she might be just a tad to old to play her now.
