A blissful time for the family turns tragic when, on a dark Sicilian road, gunfire ensues as Reg tries to flee a gang of carjackers, hitting Nicholas in the head and killing him. His devastated parents donate the boy's organs, so that others may benefit from his loss; and when they return home to California, they realize they have caused a media frenzy with their generous act. Based on a touching true story, NICHOLAS' GIFT originally aired on CBS television. [More]
