Hank Azaria Joins Night at the Museum 2 and Year One
Tackling a pair of "ancient roles."

You'll be seeing a lot of Hank Azaria in theaters next year -- but don't expect to recognize him.

The Hollywood Reporter has announced that Azaria has signed on for a pair of "ancient roles" -- in Night at the Museum 2: Escape from the Smithsonian, he'll be appearing as "an all-powerful Egyptian pharaoh named Kah Mun Rah," while the Judd Apatow-produced, Harold Ramis-directed Year One, "set in biblical times," will find Azaria playing the Old Testament prophet Abraham.

With both projects, Azaria's in good company; the Museum sequel places him alongside Ben Stiller and Amy Adams, and his Year One co-stars include Jack Black and Michael Cera.

Before moving back in front of the cameras, Azaria will wrap up his run in the Broadway show The Farnsworth Invention on March 2.

Year One certainly sounds good...Museum 2, not so much...

year one sounds pretty good. but this museum sequel I'm worried about. ben stiller did say that he'd only do the sequel if he found the script to be even better than the first. so hopefully it'll be good.

Here's to hoping Ramis can bring back the touch of Caddyshack and Groundhog's Day to the good ol' Bible days.
