No More "Oceans" After Lucky 13
by Scott Weinberg | August 21, 2006
Discuss Article
To those of you (ok, us) who've been wondering how many "Ocean's" movies Steven Soderbergh has left in him, you now have an answer: The next one, "Ocean's Thirteen" will be the last one.

From ComingSoon.net: "Ocean's 13" will be the last one. Especially George (Clooney) wanted "to go out strong", and "Ocean's 12" was too complicated. "Ocean's 13" is a comedy, and this time Al Pacino is a great bad guy, in fact "this guy's a monster!" said Steven Soderbergh yesterday to a maybe 1000-1200 people strong crowd in his interview with Shane Danielsen, The Director of Edinburgh International Film Festival."

"O13" hits theaters next June.

Still haven't seen 12, and don't think I ever will. Seems like a wankfest.

12 sucked. Seriously, who makes sequels to remakes?

it's not horrible but it IS confusing and too cool for it's own good.
the opening 'revenge' is possibly the best part of the film.
the rival theif is worth it and some of the outlandish concepts are fun too.
too much is all.

not that we need an ocean's 13, but it's good to hear it'll be the last one.

It wasn't complicated, it was stupid.

You went through this whole plot, and then it was like, "Oh, while we were off-screen, we TOTALLY resolved the plot of the movie!"

Well..no more till 13 makes like 300 million anyways. The franchise lost credibility quite a while ago it's clearly just aiming for the cash grab not that I think that's adherently wrong in of itself contrary to the believe of some film elite the movie industry is just that a business.

These movies are great. A bunch of "A-listers" standing around phoning it in. And we're supposed all wet our selves.

You all are just jealous that a bunch of good-looking actors get to party 24/7 for a few months and disguise it as working. Can you blame them? Especially Affleck, Caan and Bernie Mac. Those guys wish they'd make thirteen of them.

I thought Ocean's 11 was great. i loved that movie, it was funny and had style and twists. Believable? hell no, but still fun as hell. I didn't really care for 12 at all. like the other dude said, they tried to make to it too "cool" and complicated for it's own good. it just didn't work. i'll glady see 13 if it's anything like 11 was. i just hope they don't try to over-stylize it like they did with 12.

no!
how dare 13 top actors get together to make the second sequel to a remake! it's outlandish! it's an awful idea. i can't believe they just assumed that us, the general public, would sit around and wonder if Damon, Clooney, and Pitt will return. How dare they conclude that we would be sitting around in chat rooms and post things on line, expressing our opinions which in the end, only matter to us! it's...it's...! yeah, i'll probably go see it. People are allowed to make fun movies. they never claimed it was this super intricate plot, and while the plot may have sucked a little, it was still entertaining.

you can't go into a movie like this hoping for something life changing cause in the end, it's still about a bunch of cool guys, acting cooler on screen.

Now, Snakes on a Mother Fucking Plane was a work of genius. that thing should have like 9 sequels! I think we have a new Evil Dead!!!

I adored the original movie, Ocean's Eleven. It was smart, witty, fast paced and had a brilliant cast. Ocean's Twelve had one of those four things, it had a brilliant cast. The movie was basically showing them off at every opportunity while throwing in some over-complicated plot that really was dull. George Clooney was wasted, Brad Pitt proved he really can't take control of these movies by himself because his character is pretty dull when put in the limelight. Matt Damon, well what the hell was his performance all about, it was awful. Julia Roberts looks bored, Catherine Zeta-Jones made a noble effort but with a movie that bad around her it just made her seem tired. Ocean's 12 was a waste of time and I left the cinema with a headache, so will I see Ocean's 13. Of course I will. Just in some hope that it will go out with some style and redeem the series are Ocean's Twelve.

How terrific for them! They sure seem to enjoy themselves, don't they. And look ever-so-hip doing it. Please, keep taking my money, I haven't got anything better to do with it.
