No Topher Grace Cameo in "Oceans 13"
by Fred Topel | April 22, 2007
Discuss Article
The "Oceans Eleven" remake series have had great celebrity cameos. Bruce Willis stole the uncredited show in "Oceans 12" and Topher Grace popped up in each of the first two films, as one of Brad Pitt’s celebrity card students (exclaiming “All reds!”) Unfortunately, "Spider-Man 3" kept Grace from completing the cameo trilogy.

“I was doing reshoots on this,” said Grace. “I was bummed. I actually talked to Steven Soderbergh about that and we had a thing and then I couldn’t do it.”

More than the loss of a gig, Grace regrets not taking part in the final reunion of the A-list crew. “I’m bummed because there’s nothing more fun than dropping in on that set for one or two days and hanging out with that crew. That film looks great by the way.”

For audiences, we lament that there will be no closure from Grace going from method card shark researcher to hotel room trashing wreck. “There will be no closure on the character of Topher Grace from the Oceans films.”

I could understand why. I like Topher Grace as an actor.

I don't even remember him being in Twelve. Or Eleven, for that matter.

i thought it was hilarious that he played himself, and in the second one him being a rock-bottom hitting down on his luck out of work actor, that was great.

This isn't slow news. This is good stuff. It's meaningless, but it's funny to note. I'll be honest, I didn't notice him in the first two, but now I almost have to rewatch them to check it out.
