Only her son... Years ago, Helen Cuffe became a widow after terrorists accidentally killed her husband. Retreating to a solitary life on the secluded Irish coast, she buries herself in her painting. Only her son Jack, who lives in Dublin, occasionally comes to keep her company. Then the arrival of an American, come to restore the town's dilapidated railway station, changes all that: Helen's initial reluctance and suspicion soon fade and the two begin a love affair.
