Jimmy Cliff garnered international recognition with his 1969 album WONDERFUL WORLD, BEAUTIFUL PEOPLE, and Perry Henzell's THE HARDER THEY COME starred the artist as a gritty outlaw hero and featured Cliff's music in the soundtrack as well. Truly a revolutionary of reggae, Cliff paved the way for the likes of Bob Marley, who followed in his footsteps. Sly & Robbie, the drummer/ bassist duo who, during the reggae boom of the '70s, became the most sought-after rhythm section in reggae and pop music, also put in an appearance here. Foremost political toaster and "dub poet" Mutabaruka, as well as Johnny Clark, Max Romeo, and Ras Michael complete this stellar lineup of reggae luminaries. [More]
