Barbara Stanwyck stars as Drue Van Allen, a U.S. Army Colonel's daughter who was kicked out of school for having rather different political views. Her family, embarrased, tries their best to get Drue to leave the country for awhile. This way they will be able to keep their social status in tact. Far away in a remote Mexican town, Drue meets a soldier on leave a persuades him to take her back into the country. The young soldier, now in love with Drue has no idea that she really wants to go back to meet up with her long lost boyfriend with whom she shares the same political views.
