Gael Garcia Bernal

Memories of Underdevelopment

Memories of Underdevelopment

"It's a beautiful, beautiful movie. A philosophical introspection on the nature of revolution and change and deciding to be on one side or the other. And it's about how the outside world makes you decide how to step on one side or the other. It's possibly one of the most eye-opening films i can ever recommend to anyone because it gives you a glimpse on an internal struggle."

Honestly, I haven't heard of most these. But it's about time someone put an animated film in their top 5!

Wow! That's a pretty great slate of celebrated classics. You expect a guy like Bernal to have taste like this. Especially Rocco..., that is completely up his alley. If a remake is made, Bernal would be absolutely perfect for it, he has infact played similar roles elsewhere.

A list that finally includes Tarkovsky and Wenders! The other films are exceptional as well.

Amen, no more heartrending scene in all of cinema than when Dumbo is separated from his Mama. Worse even than Bambi.

Interesting choices. I enjoyed Paris, Texas as well, one of my favorites. Damn, how gorgeous is GGB?

A really great list. I haven't seen Memories of Underdevelopment, but I'll be sure to give it a look.
