You are SO right. I "got it" half way through the movie and then was bored, bored, bored. Not to mention wierded out. So this smart, rich guy can't figure out how to atone for texting while driving and killing people other than suicide AND having sex with a woman who supposedly can't even walk without passing out?? There's way to keep your loves heart with you always. Gag me. PUHLEEZE! The thing jumped all over the place and that irritated me right from the start. The bones of the idea (atonement) has merit. The execution stunk.
