on May 08 2009 09:34 AM You have no historical perspective at all. Natalie Maines made a disingenuous comment to pander to the anti-war sentiment in London. She proved how disingenuous it was with her apology and numerous interviews immediately following. Nobody gave a damn about her Bush comment besides the media and a few right wing extremists. The reason her apology and Bush's lies being found out didn't help Nat, is because the dissent was about bashing. She had already bashed people for publicity, then released music to capitalize on it (TK and Travelin soldier, for example). Anyone who criticized her was a target. The only people repeating "Shut up and sing" was the Dixie Chicks themselves. Even liberals recognized the poisonous nature of her disingenuous comment, the movie designed solely to paint them as victims, and her bashfest. Please note they were NOT invited to the big lib Prez win celebration. Millions of Americans didn't fail stupid. Natalie Maines did, and you have just joined her. (Reply to this) |
