Welcome to Splendona High School in Splendona, Texas -- where football players, cheerleaders, and beauty queens rule the hallways. And Starla Grady (Jane McGregor), the most popular girl in school, is on top of it all. That is, at least, until Genevieve LePlouff (Piper Perabo) drops in.
Genevieve, a foreign exchange student from Paris, movies in with Starla’s family in an attempt to help boost Starla’s grade in French class and keep her from getting kicked off the cheerleading squad. At first glance, Genevieve appears to be the typical fish out of water – following Starla around with unwavering admiration at her charmed and wonderful life. But when Genevieve is featured on the front of the school newspaper telling her tale of misfortune and lost love, Starla feels the tide of her perfect world begin to shift.
Before Starla realizes what’s happening, Genevieve has stolen her best friends, her boyfriend, her spot on the cheerleading squad, and her position as the most popular girl in Splendona! But Starla’s not about to go down without a fight. With the help of her little brother and a new crush, she plots her revenge to expose Genevieve as the conniving, back stabbing liar that she really is. -- © The Premiere Marketing & Distribution Group LLC

Reviews for She Gets What She Wants
...even if one were willing to overlook the downright aimless storyline, there's still the dearth of laughs and muddled character motives to contend with.
The humor is sharp and the satirical targets are mercilessly skewered.
Slap her - she's not funny! No French people were harmed during the making of this movie, but they were insulted and the audience was put through torture for an hour and a half.
[Mayron] manages to keep things affectionate even while she's sending things up higher than a full moon over Texas.
Takes one character we don't like and another we don't believe, and puts them into a battle of wills that is impossible to care about and isn't very funny.
A droll, bitchy frolic which pokes fun at the price of popularity and small-town pretension in the Lone Star State.
