Made as a student film on a next-to-nothing budget, the film had a run in New York as a midnight movie, and went on to become an international cult classic. Sexually frustrated student Alex (Robert Sabin) and his chaste girlfriend, Lori (Mary Huner), move into a new apartment, only to find that it is haunted by the spirit of Zachary, a cult leader who orchestrated a mass suicide there years ago. The building's spooky residents want to use Alex's body to resurrect Zachary, and after he rather foolishly accepts their hospitality, Alex starts to turn into a horrifying slime monster, bent on murder in a multitude of gory ways. Now only the pure Lori can face up to the powers of evil that have manifested themselves in her boyfriend. With plenty of rubber masks, sausages, bright-red blood, and gross-out slime, this retro no-budget movie strikes all the right notes for genre fans. [More]
