It concerns the long-brewing rivalries and jealousies among three sisters: Hilary, a widow who lives in Sorrento with her father and teenage son; Meg, a successful London novelist; and Pippa, the youngest, who lives in New York. The sisters gather at home after their father accidentally drowns during his daily swim.
