We're giving away 5 packs -- including every movie -- to celebrate the latest film's DVD release

Star Trek DVD

One of the year's biggest -- and certainly best -- blockbusters arrives next week on DVD and Blu-ray: J.J. Abrams' kinetic reboot of Star Trek, which opened to rave reviews and huge box office back in March.

To celebrate Star Trek's release on DVD and Blu-ray, Paramount and Rotten Tomatoes are offering you the chance to win one of five stellar Star Trek prize packs. Each pack contains a copy of the new Star Trek film, plus a complete box set of films one through ten, the Star Trek "Scene It" game, and a USB port. That's a serious, must-have prize for any Trek fan.

To win, just tell us, in 25 words or less, who you think should play the villain in the next Star Trek movie, and why. Send your answers, along with your mailing address, to: Star Trek Giveaway.

Entries close Sunday, November 1. Winners will be notified by mail. Please note that the contest is open to Australian residents only.

Star Trek is released on DVD and Blu-ray on October 29.

I've read in forums and other places online how the next film will try to reflect current issues that are happening in the world today just as Gene Roddenberry did back in the 60s. I am all for that. I know that in the old series, Romulans were the first "enemy" that the Enterprise encountered and Klingons were the most well known.

So, I would like to see Klingons as the enemy in the next film. How the Federation of Planets and the Klingon Empire become enemies would be a very nice story. A racial and political themed movie that isn't too preachy. Can that be done? I think so.

What good is a Contest like this if it's only open to Australian residents, and why not advertise that up front?

Very fortunate to live in a wealthy country like Australia where state Victoria seem to have mega-size shopping malls north, east, south and west of where I live in a suburb somewhere below the middle of Victoria. If only Disneyland was built in some deserted farmland, fans might see a giant starship Enterprise attracting tourists and pouring millions in the economy.
The DVD release here I believe would be too many, fans would have to buy another one in case it gets stolen or lost.

The problem with a Contest like this is that it's also being advertised in the U.S., so people, when they come to the site and see the Contest being promoted, and then go to the Page Link for it, have no choice but to laugh or get annoyed. Australia is a country with a population smaller than Canada, whereas the U.S. has over 300 million people, so to advertise a Contest like this as though anyone has a chance of participating and winning is unfair and just wrong to the vast majority of people accessing this site at any given time.
I'm not mocking or insulting Australia as a country or its people. I'm criticizing the ethics of promoting a contest like this here in the U.S. and other countries abroad.

Yeah, I know exactly what you mean - though I am on the other side of the fence. I live in Australia, so I think it is wonderful to have a competition I can enter.
Nearly all other competitions I have tried to enter have been US / Canada only, and that is usually in very small writing after I have entered all the details. Most often US competitions don't even have that, they just assume that people entering are from the US.

We are a small population, and in comparison to the US we have very few competitions we can enter.

I would like to say thanks for choosing my entry. The pack is amazing. Thanks again RT.

For the record, my villian was Terran Empire ruler James T. Kirk.
