Built on the same land where a mill burned down during the Civil War, the hospital is exhibiting numerous signs of paranormal activity. At night, children can be heard screaming in pain, while the near-resident hypochondriac and psychic, Mrs. Druse (Diane Ladd, ALICE DOESN'T LIVE HERE ANYMORE, WILD AT HEART), is certain that something is amiss. As the series unfolds, patients and doctors alike become increasingly convinced of the impinging presence of the supernatural, with more and more people experiencing terrifying encounters. In this installment, Mrs. Druse and Dr. Hook (Andrew McCarthy, PRETTY IN PINK) attempt contact with Mary's ghost by soliciting the aid of a dying patient, and a criminal on the lam hides out in the hospital.
