Consensus: An unusually sweet and charming comedy by the Farrelly brothers. Fans may miss the distinct lack of bodily fluids though.

This time around a couple of conjoined twins (Greg Kinnear and Matt Damon) are the focus, and this premise provides for a relentless string of clever, absurd, and always-fresh jokes. Bob (Damon) and Walt (Kinnear) are living happy lives, perfectly content to be joined by a patch of skin that extends from armpit to hip and allows them to share a liver. Though they must do everything in tandem, they are best friends and treat each other as individuals with separate lives. Living on Martha's Vineyard, Bob (Damon) owns a popular local diner where he and Walt work as incredibly fast-moving short-order cooks with all four hands in perfect sync flipping burgers and slicing vegetables--this is one of the best gags in the film. However, as the brothers are shown playing hockey, fighting kung-fu style, cruising for babes in a bar, and taking on basically any other feat imaginable, the laughs only get better. Trouble comes when suave, confident Walt decides to pursue a Hollywood acting career, and Bob's stage fright, panic attacks, and shyness present a personality clash. Nonetheless, they get to meet Meryl Streep, they land a starring role in a television show with Cher, and they find some nice girlfriends. The Farellys keep their signature gross-out humor to a minimum with this likeable film, and provide some truly great, easily digestible physical comedy. [More]

Too sweet and eager to please for its own good, Stuck on You signifies the Farrelly brothers continued descent toward medicority.

At once ridiculous, obnoxious, and poignant, it recaptures the difficult middle ground between gross and sweet that There's Something About Mary managed so well.

Comedy with heart is nice, but not if it gets in the way of the laughs.

By the Farrellys' standards, Stuck on You is pretty tame, keeping the gutter humor to a minimum.

More sticky than slapsticky, but laugh-loaded all the same.

An engaging and affectionate motion picture that may have its fair share of problems, but treats its subject matter with surprising adeptness.

...the purest expression of the Farrellys' sensibility. They've mastered the freak show with feeling.

A strangely lackluster, flaccid string of fitfully humorous episodes.

Not only is Stuck on You a hoot, but it also walks a line -- as the best Farrelly brothers movies do -- between silly farce and sweet sentimentality that artfully avoids the cloying or maudlin.

Here the message -- it's not nice to ridicule, mistreat or ignore people just because they're different -- verges on the oppressive; more of the Farrellys' trademark over-the-top comedy would have lightened the load.

A sweet movie about brotherly love that doesn't force the humour.

The Farrellys are definitely trying something here, conjoining pathos and humor, and even if it doesn't work, it is always freakishly watchable.

People take comedy for granted, but to step back and think about Stuck on You is to be impressed by the invention and sheer exuberance of the picture, which isn't great but sure is enjoyable.
