Consensus: An unusually sweet and charming comedy by the Farrelly brothers. Fans may miss the distinct lack of bodily fluids though.

This time around a couple of conjoined twins (Greg Kinnear and Matt Damon) are the focus, and this premise provides for a relentless string of clever, absurd, and always-fresh jokes. Bob (Damon) and Walt (Kinnear) are living happy lives, perfectly content to be joined by a patch of skin that extends from armpit to hip and allows them to share a liver. Though they must do everything in tandem, they are best friends and treat each other as individuals with separate lives. Living on Martha's Vineyard, Bob (Damon) owns a popular local diner where he and Walt work as incredibly fast-moving short-order cooks with all four hands in perfect sync flipping burgers and slicing vegetables--this is one of the best gags in the film. However, as the brothers are shown playing hockey, fighting kung-fu style, cruising for babes in a bar, and taking on basically any other feat imaginable, the laughs only get better. Trouble comes when suave, confident Walt decides to pursue a Hollywood acting career, and Bob's stage fright, panic attacks, and shyness present a personality clash. Nonetheless, they get to meet Meryl Streep, they land a starring role in a television show with Cher, and they find some nice girlfriends. The Farellys keep their signature gross-out humor to a minimum with this likeable film, and provide some truly great, easily digestible physical comedy. [More]

Stuck On You had the potential to be a true classic, but is still stocked with enough big laughs to earn a place on your calendar.

Stuck on You is an agreeably silly knockabout comedy that actually works, which is more than I can say about a lot of the films that have come out in recent weeks.

The brothers (the directing ones) strike a good balance between sick and sweet, and Damon and Kinnear make a great comedy team.

Die-hard Something About Mary fans may feel that the brothers have gone soft with age and profit. But Stuck on You strikes the right balance of shocking send-up and inspirational cheer.

While the belly laughs are few, there are numerous chuckles and it's quite watchable, thanks to solid performances by Damon and Kinnear.

If you like your Farrelly brothers' films outrageous and offensive, you won't be stuck on Stuck on You. You'll only be shocked at how inoffensive the film tries to be.

Stuck on You wondrously takes the high road and still elicits real laughs.

Fans of the earlier films may miss the Brothers' raunchiness, but when 'Stuck' works -- which is most of the time -- it proves they're on the right creative track.

Would have been much funnier and much more natural with an R rating, especially when it comes to Cher's dialogue.

Bubbling underneath the conjoined twin gimmick of the story and the ribald blasts of un-PC toilet humor is a rather intriguing and complex film.

It's a much funnier movie than the trailer would lead you to believe; it would almost have to be. But it is just not as consistent as their previous trash wallows.

Sweeter and softer than their earlier comedies, and largely devoid of gags about bodily functions, Stuck on You has the vibe of a transitional work, as if the brothers were trying to see how a post-scatological Farrelly comedy could play.

Audiences may be put off by a script that's just a bit too progressive and intelligent for its own good.

The comedy is tooooo loooooong for the two or three jokes it has to play with, and Kinnear does the picture's only three-dimensional acting.

Dead Ringers it ain't. But it is the Farrelly brothers doing what they do best: taking a hot-button topic and jamming it with as much humor as they can.

Stuck on You is pretty much impossible not to like, with its pleasant charm and plenty of laughs supporting a sentimental message.

... is likely to disappoint die-hard fans of the writing/directing team's established gross-out humor, but pleasantly surprise those looking for a comedy with a sweeter, though still unintimidatingly low-brow, center.
