Terminator Salvation

"The Hydrobot is a Terminator that actually goes through the water. Although it actually has the fluid movements of an eel or a fish and it has this ability to swim quite quickly we've tried to keep it real again. It's all mechanical, with a rhyme and a reason behind each element of the design. We did the final design, blew it up to full size and then gave it to the guys at Stan Winston Studios who made it as a 3D model. It's about eight and a half feet long. They puppeteered it on set a few days ago and it really looks very exciting. They move it around like a Jim Henson puppet with green sticks which we'll remove digitally. That reality of actual mechanical parts, that really would work, is what we've been chasing with all the design. There's no kind of science-fiction silliness that's going on. We started with Mother Nature, really, looking at various aquatic life, eels and so on. Then we worked on several different designs, honing it down each time. We're trying to establish a reality here. McG has been very clear about the fact that this is a real, grimy, dirty and dangerous world."

Let's think of "Angels and Demons" as a pit stop from "Star Trek" to "Terminator".

I kinda wish they hadn't said so much about Marcus.

I think its really cool how they are going for as much realism as possible, and they aren't relying just on CGI but using real props too.

Yeah I think it would've been cool if they never said anything about Marcus, so people could go to the theater and see it and be shocked without knowing before hand. But, that opportunity has passed.

I agree about saying a lot about marcus, but if you didn't want spoilers, why are you reading things like this? Ha! I'm just kidding, it is kind of annoying. Even the trailer gives you a pretty good idea what Marcus is. Bummer. I still have no idea what the movie is gonna be like, but I'm liking everything I see/hear so far. Even the guy who was the badass commander in Starship Troopers is in this.

I think it is SO cool they built as much as possible. CGI is one of the worst things that has happened to movie making despite what it can do for film, simply because it is overused or used inadequately a LOT of the time. CGI should be used only when its a necessity, and thats what the people on terminator salvation seem to be doing. rock on.

star trek used CGI really well too, that movie has a great a look about it, and the CGI and real stuff fits seamlessly. Awesome.

It's very comforting to know that at the very least this film will get the special effects right.

i was excited about this, even after getting sensory raped by T3 then I seen the advert and noticed its a 12A!! Obviously studios wan't as much money for their investment as possible but seriously a terminator movie an 8 year old can go see doesn't sound like a proper terminator movie to me.

(can someone PM me if thhey know how I can change my username, Graham R sucks but I am worried I am stuck with it now as I can't seem to find an option in settings, thanks.)
