Joker's Dwarves Scare Michael Caine in The Dark Knight
They scares us, too.
Michael Caine has been touting the performance of Heath Ledger in The Dark Knight, guaranteeing he will terrify audiences with his all new Joker. The acting knight described a major Joker scene as just such an example.
"He'll frighten the life out of you," Caine began. "He did me the first time I saw him because we did a rehearsal on the first day and we hadn't met or anything. He had to come up in an elevator to Batman's home. I'm thinking I'm letting friends in, instead of which he's killed them all and he's coming up in the lift."

The Joker (Ledger) menaces Rachel Dawes (Maggie Gyllenhaal).
This Joker is not alone though. His villainous cohorts sound even weirder. "In the first rehearsal, I've never seen him, and he has like seven dwarves with him like Snow White only it's not like that. When the bloody door opens on the lift, he came tearing out. I forgot every line I had. Terrifying."
The Dark Knight is slated for release July 18, 2008. But you can start getting excited right now.

I Am Remote writes: on Oct 05 2007 10:03 PM I second all of the enthusiasm, but one has to kind of wonder... Should the Joker be that scary? I think we agree the world of Batman deserved a darker and most serious tone, and that the villains should come off as more vicious threats than Burton's cartoonish and corny renditions, but they shouldn't all be terrifying. In fact, in terms of making us feel terror, shouldn't Scarecrow be at the top of the list? Joker should be creepy, insane, and funny... right? Don't get me wrong. Begins is one of my favorite movies, and I have confidence the series will continue brilliantly, just a thought to throw out there. I hope the Joker isn't reduced to jumping out of shadows (accompanied loud noises) instead of a faithful adaptation of the character. (Reply to this) |
