New Dark Knight Picture, Viral Site
Show 'em your best Joker face!
by Jeff Giles | November 01, 2007
Discuss Article
Well, that didn't take long -- just a few hours after the word-jumble puzzle at The Dark Knight viral site WhySoSerious debuted, fans solved it, and as promised, the Joker made it worth their while. And now all of us get to benefit from their hard work.

Check it out. Isn't the Internet great?

The above shot of Heath Ledger in Joker regalia was the payoff for cracking the WhySoSerious jumble -- but Warner Bros. hasn't stopped there. Clicking on the photo led fans to a whole new site, RorysDeathKiss, and -- yep, you guessed it -- another task to complete. Read on:

It's show time, folks!

Patience is a virtue, but who wants to be virtuous? It's time to get this little show of mine on the road. Anyone can wear a mask on Halloween. It's what they skin off your face the rest of the year that really slays an audience.

Want to make me laugh? Here's a little challenge you can try, starting at daybreak tomorrow.

Round up a crew, your friends, family and even your foes (as many clowns as you can find) and make yourselves look as pretty as me. Put on a show in front of the most famous landmark in your city, but don't get arrested -- you're no use to me behind bars.

Send me a picture and I'll see if you have what it takes.

Pictures are like ears: anything you lend me, I'm never giving back. You, I only want to rent. The pictures I'm gonna own.

Be clever, be daring, be creative, or just be the butt of my joke.

Do this for me...and I'll do something to for you.

You heard the man -- break out the makeup and get those shutters snapping!

With all this hype and hardcore fans, this movie will rack up more than $300 million in box office.

I wonder if people are actually going to do this. I think everybody is worn out from yesterday.

they better friggin do it! and personally, i thought the picture was a let down. I was hoping for at least a poster, or a small clip, or a new set of pictures at least (not just the one)

either way, this movie is going to rule!

they should have had this post BEFORE halloween, since people were dressing up anyways. some marketing genius thought 'yeah, we'll release it on halloween and everyone will get in costume, it'll be great!' dude, you have to give people a little notice...

Dahluzz, the point IS to have it after Halloween, to have fans show their loyalty to the cause and idealogy of the viral marketing campaign. The point is to toss out the "rules." It would be no fun to have the stunt on Halloween, then anyone would do it. Those true to the cause will proudly sport their colors November 1st. Now am I the only one who can't figure out where to post said shots? Thusfar, I've found no way to upload photos or any kind of link at all on the page.

Am I the only one freaking out here over the complete lack of both photos and photo depositories? Sadly enough, this event is basically why I've been living the past 24 hours. When and where are we going to see the promised results?

The message says at "Daybreak" for everyone to go out and participate in this, which probably means there won't be a link to insert photos until this afternoon.

Anyone else notice.. .how Heath looks either older.... or more disfigured in this picture compared to the 17 that were leaked a few months back... like the interrogation room pics...

Maybe im just imagining things... but maybe its a sign of a little "Chemical Face" action?

I love the take Nolan and Ledger appear to be taking on The Joker. That letter (and accompanying quote "And tonight you are going to break your only rule") are just about proof that they know precisely what 'the joke' to be played on Batman is.

But the whole viral scavenger hunt, puzzle solving thing seems just a little too 'Riddler' for my tastes.

And yeah, I can't tell if that is a Batpenis, a gun, or if the Joker is giving us the finger.

Just curious, but do you have a job or life? Not trying to flame, but that sounds really nuts that you are that excited about this, or any, movie.
