First Shots of Eric Bana and Rachel McAdams in The Time Traveler's Wife
Sad about Journeyman not being renewed? This may soothe your pain.

The first stills from Robert Schwentke's adaptation of The Time Traveler's Wife have surfaced online!

Eric Bana, Rachel McAdams, and Ron Livingston star in the film version of Audrey Niffenegger's book, summarized in the official synopsis below:

Just like Audrey Niffenegger's beloved bestseller, this adaptation promises to be an epic love story to please both sexes. Eric Bana (MUNICH) stars as a man who is unable to control his tendency to time travel, and Rachel McAdams (THE NOTEBOOK) is his long-suffering love who must wait for him to return to her.

In other words, yes, it's a tear-jerker of a love story -- but unlike The Notebook, there's a little action tossed in, so you might not mind the two-hour investment this time, fellas. Click on any image below for more stills!

Eric Bana's best ever role is CHOPPER!

Sure wish he would do the book sequels to that film. I cant ever imagine him beating that role, such an under watched movie.

the stills look PERFECT.
can't wait for this...
and yes, its so much more than a tear-jerker love story. the novel, at least, has so many different layer; its original, fresh, and beautiful. hopefully Schwentke's adaptation isn't disappointing!

I haven't read the book but the plot synopsis sounds exactly like the show Journeyman that was just cancelled on NBC. I liked the show a lot, I wish it was given a full season, stupid writers strike.

They aren't *exactly* alike, sorjue, but they're definitely similar. I liked them both -- I even sent a box of Rice-A-Roni to the dorks at NBC as part of the "Save Journeyman" campaign.

love bana, very underrated actor. for some reason reminds me of Christian Bale...but bale is breaking out so maybe Bana can do the same. i still think HE had nothing to do with the Hulk being an almost crap movie. and i doubt this flick will please men, judging by those pics. unless McAdams loses her shirt maybe. the pics actually turned ME off. i was interested by the time travel concept, but the rest just sounds like a chic flick, and no...i didn't read the books(obviously)

I thought the exact same thing, sorjue. I absolutely loved the show %u2013 it was one of my favorite new shows of the season %u2013 and I was (still am) very angry they canceled it prematurely. It happens all too often to the best of shows.

In any case, whether they're alike or not, I think the movie sounds pretty interesting, and potentially good. And I really like Eric Bana, Rachel McAdams and Ron Livingston. It definitely sounds promising.

Anything with McAdams in it will be wonderful.

Oh, and maybe a few other people, too, if absolutely necessary.
