Synopsis: Todo el Poder is the black humor story where violence, impunity, influence and the powerlessness of many is captured by the camera of a publicist and cameraman aficionado by the name of Gabriel... Todo el Poder is the black humor story where violence, impunity, influence and the powerlessness of many is captured by the camera of a publicist and cameraman aficionado by the name of Gabriel (Demian Bichir from Sangre, Pudor y Lagrimas) who becomes a victim and witness of a powerful crime but at the same time lives through extremely humorous situations. The film tells us about Gabriel (Demian Bichir), a young average man who has been forced into extreme circumstances because he lives in the most complicated city in the world. Gabriel is obsessed by one topic: Insecurity. He is convinced that his role on this earth is to focus the world's attention to this matter; so, for over two years he has been producing a revealing documentary about it. Gabriel, who does not want any more problems with his ex-wife Tere, borrows her car after his daughter Ximena insists so that he can go have dinner with his buddies at a very elegant restaurant in Mexico City. But shortly after he arrives at the restaurant, a gang of criminals wearing weird masks rob the restaurant's patrons taking everything they have on them including their clothes... oh, and one more thing, Tere's car. A devastated Gabriel has to face his ex-wife, who is not at all surprised by it because she believes that it is another of her former husband's irresponsible actions. One of those coincidences that change the course of things suddenly happens; Gabriel sees Tere's car and together with Sofia -- an attractive young woman he met during the restaurant's robbery -- they go after it; thus giving beginning to an adventure that will lead them to get the car back and much more. Gabriel begins to dare the thieves thanks to the fact that he has been recording their crimes with a tiny video camera he carries everywhere he goes. At the same time, with the kidnapping of one of his friends, he is threatened and pressured not to uncover this group of corrupt policemen. Gabriel and Sofia will have to use all their ingenuity to rescue his friend and expose the criminals in this very funny adventure in which every Latin American person can understand the frustration and the desire to end with the insecurity felt in the cities they live in. This film presents a problem common in many cities in Latin America and the world in general, where crime ends up being connected to those in power. This encounter with crime happens to Gabriel also at a time when he is going through a personal crisis product of his divorce from Tere and his separation from his daughter. -- © Venevision International [More]

Bichir is superb as the crusading filmmaker, who channels his frustration and angry energy through his camera.
