In this dazzling sequel to the 1995 blockbuster, Andy heads off to summer camp, leaving the toys behind to fend for themselves. In much the same way Buzz discovered he is a mass-produced product in the first installment, Woody discovers that he is a valuable collectible spawned by a popular 1950s kiddie-puppet TV show, "Woody's Roundup Gang," when he is kidnapped by an evil toy collector, Al McWhiggin. Through Al, who plans to sell him to a Japanese toy museum, Woody is reunited with the toy versions of his TV cohorts--plucky cowgirl Jessie (Cusack), prospector Stinky Pete (Grammer), and trusty horse Bullseye. Woody must choose between seeing Andy grow up and forsake him and living a sterile but eternal life behind glass being admired--but not played with. Meanwhile, the rest of the original toy troupe undergoes a thrilling crosstown adventure to locate their kidnapped friend and restore him his rightful owner. Extremely entertaining, surprisingly touching, endlessly thrilling eye candy for anyone of any age. Golden Globe Winner: Best Motion Picture--Musical or Comedy. Includes outtakes and bonus short, "Luxo Jr.," plus a sneak preview of Disney/Pixar's MONSTERS INC. [More]

Reviews for Toy Story 2
It is by far the funniest, most inventive and perfectly crafted comedy of the year.
Its mix of silliness, affection, and piercing nostalgia -- and yes, artistry -- keeps the separate halves of the audience engaged simultaneously.
A rollickin' great lil' fun adventure for newborns, children, kids, teenagers, young adults, parents, grandpas and grandmas alike.
Takes a childhood notion -- the life that every child truly believes his or her toys have -- and runs with it in a breathtakingly imaginative way.
Like last year's underrated Babe: Pig in the City, it dares to take its familiar cast of characters in a different, more melancholy direction.
Pixar should, if they haven't already, start installing additional shelf space. Those statuettes and plaques sure do take up a lot of room.
Toy Story 2 is visually stunning, with CG images so true-to-life that you can easily forget that you aren’t watching a live-action movie.
This film shrewdly brings forth two features of contemporary life which everyone suspects but no one seems to be able to prove.
Toy Story 2 es la mejor muestra de lo que nos espera el próximo siglo en cuanto a animación y entretenimiento familiar
A disarming return visit with a collection of computer-animated eccentrics who haven't come close to wearing out their welcome.
Even more visually dazzling than its ground-breaking predecessor, Toy Story 2 represents the state-of-the-art in mainstream animated story telling.
Toy Story 2 is the perfect film to carry the Disney torch into the next century.
Toy Story 2 is the perfect film to carry the Disney torch into the next century.
A very good film, especially considering it is a sequel. Although not as innovative as the original (how could it be), Toy Story 2 still packs plenty of laughs and surprises.
