Director-bots: Transform!
by | June 26, 2009
Blog Article | Discuss Article
Summary

Having set out to Destroy All Retinas with his noisy monstrosity/$200 million surreal art piece Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen -- and now reportedly looking to make a smaller, intimate movie as his next project -- we got to wondering what a giant robot movie would look like if it were in the hands of some of cinema's more idiosyncratic auteurs. Can Autobots and Decepticons find love under the steady hand of Ang Lee? Is there a lonely, confused female Transformer drifting into Sofia Coppola's orbit? Michael Bay, take note: that little understated drama you've got planned --- we hear it's a remake of Truffaut's The 400, um, Explosions --- could benefit from out synopses. Back to Article

This is easily the most painfully useless article I have ever read on Rotten Tomatoes. Why is this in the news section? I'm so damn tired of the Bay bashing. Let's see your giant popcorn eating robot movies Oscar! If your films were twice as good as your articles they would still be monstrosities... just thought I would try your snobbish attitude on for a moment.

If Quentin Tarantino directed the films, THEY WOULD BE THE STUFF OF LEGENDS! And if Tim Burton, it would be the best movie ever made.

what a waste of space. Obviously the person who wrote this has nothing better to do than to pick his *** and put the **** in a article

honestly, aside from the comment about destroyed retinas, I thought this piece offered an incredible amount of praise to Bay. The article also kept me giggling throughout which is more than i can say for almost all of the crap flingers on this site. The day any of you are honored by a movie production studio with 200 million to make ANY movie, then i will deem you worthy of criticism

Hey, hey, she's a bad actress, but I like her more than most actress's. Why? She called her role in the first "Transformers" "Terrible". That makes her cool in my book.

Michael Bay sucks. His movies suck hardcore. Transformers was the worst movie I think I've ever seen. I can sit through very, very long movies (gone with the wind, lawrence of arabia, dr zhivago, around the 6 hour mark) but I couldn't wait for Transformers to finish, it was awful

I'm sorry but McG is practically a clone of Michael Bay. Just look at Terminator Salvation. OK, I kinda liked the film, but I was disappointed that it didn't have the same chacter weight or connection with the audience as T1 or T2. Plenty of bangs, ka-booms, bullets flying about and bombs going off left right and centre. He tried to pull off some chacter weight with Marcus Wright and a decent plot but it didn't work out, much like the 2007 Transformers film.
Like I said before, if anyone recives the Transformer Matrix of Directorship, it should be Jim Cameron or J.J Abrams.
Live long and prosper.

I loved both Transformers movies and found this article hilarious. No need for all the seriousness. I hope District 9 is amazing and Avatar WILL be epic.
