RT on DVD: WALL-E And An Exclusive Tropic Thunder Deleted Scene!
8. Southland Tales on Blu-ray
Neo-Marxists, porn stars, and The Rock converge on greater Los Angeles county in Richard Kelly's beautiful disaster of a sophomore film, which hits Blu-ray this week. Kelly fans who were waiting for the director to explain his epic vision in a commentary track should be relieved, as he at last waxes poetic on his ambitious sci-fi-philosophical actioner. Also navigate three prequel graphic novels to more fully understand the Southland Tales saga. We just want to watch the movie's best scene -- Justin Timberlake lip-synching to The Killers in slow motion -- in glorious HD.

collex writes: on Nov 17 2008 06:29 PM Tropic Thunder wil be my brother's Christmas gift (with Con Air). I will probably get Wall-E. All on DVD, unfortunately. As a university student who only recently left home, I don't have enough money to switch on Blu-Ray yet. (Not to mention that I would have to buy a Hd-Tv to go with it.) (Reply to this) |

reavus4983 writes: on Nov 17 2008 06:58 PM Wall-E was probably the second best movie all year behind The Dark Knight. It was incredible. I'll definitely get it sooner or later. Tropic Thunder was great too, so I'll be getting that. (Reply to this) |

ledawg1138 writes: on Nov 17 2008 08:51 PM Con Air for your brother? That's cruel. Just kidding. Pearl Harbor really does suck, and is worth a few good laughs. But I'm here to talk about this weeks movies. "Tropic Thunder" is a film I've yet to see. My Mom is kinda squeamish on the hard R films like this, but I don't mind heavy language, violence, etc. I'd see this, when I'm old enough. (Damn you MPAA!) Why? Because I'm a huge Frat Pack fan (Zoolander/ Meet the Parents/ Anchorman: The Legend of Ron Burgundy/ etc.) and this is their highest rated film on the tomameter. So it should be good. I'm surprised the blackface didn't recieve more controversy, and glad for that matter. "What do you mean you people?" "What do YOU mean you people?" "Huh?" I'll see it, in a few years. ledawg1138 writes: on Nov 17 2008 08:57 PM reavus is right, "WALL-E" is the second best film of year behind "The Dark Knight", and I'm glad I saw it in theaters. (I'll do my favorite films on January 1st.) I plan buying "WALL-E" eventually, and I can't help to notice how "The Incredibles" (overated, and I know I' gonna get critized for that) ishigher rated than "WALL-E". A true crime, agree. ledawg1138 writes: on Nov 17 2008 08:58 PM I've got nothing to say about "Sisterhood 2" except that I'm not the targeted audience. So I won't see it, that's that. (Reply to this) |

ledawg1138 writes: on Nov 17 2008 09:00 PM Huh? "300" on DVD again? I haven't seen it, but I plan to. Even if it is "mindless". (Reply to this) |

ledawg1138 writes: on Nov 17 2008 09:07 PM Ah, Lynch, what a strange man. I've seen and loved "The Elpephant Man", and the rest of his films sound to bleak to me. Still, a good, and odd, film maker. (Reply to this) |

ledawg1138 writes: on Nov 17 2008 09:08 PM "Southland Tales"? Is it porn? It has Timberlake "singing" so it's torture porn. I'm skiping it. (Reply to this) |

mssk8erboy writes: on Nov 17 2008 09:14 PM Definitely Picking up Tropic Thunder this week, but unfortunately i will have to wait for Wall-E, i promise though eventually i'll get it. Southland Tales on Blu-Ray would be awesome but unfortunately i don't have a player lol. I kind of want 300 but i never watch the 2-disc version i have so, i probably won't get it. Finally, Executive Koala looks amazing, i don't have a clue what it is but i kind of want to see it lol. -MIKE (Reply to this) |

ledawg1138 writes: on Nov 17 2008 09:15 PM Lastly, "Executive Koala". What...the...hell? It sounds either absoultely eerie and bizarre, or hilarious. I'd see it, much to my own surprise. Thanks Jen. (Reply to this) |

mssk8erboy writes: on Nov 17 2008 09:16 PM Southland Tales, is crazy Ledaw, it's by Richard Kelly (Donnie Darko) it's interesting but hard to follow i thought, the blu-ray would be worth it just to be able to read the graphic novels, because i'm thinking they will shed more light on everything. Don't knock the JT scene yet though, it's actually pretty awesome. -MIKE (Reply to this) |
