Jeffrey Dean Morgan, Gerard Butler Talk Watchmen
Oh, and also, they're in this Hilary Swank movie together...

Aside from being co-stars in the upcoming romantic comedy P.S. I Love You, Gerard Butler and Jeffrey Dean Morgan are both veterans of Zack Snyder productions -- so you know that when SuperHeroHype showed up at a press junket for P.S., their questions had nothing to do with Hilary Swank.

Morgan, currently sporting his Watchmen character's mustache, fielded questions about what it's like playing the Comedian, the amoral anti-hero of the story. Admitting that he's "nervous as hell" and saying "there's days that are rough," Morgan went on to tell reporters:

Oddly enough, he's a superhero, but he does horrible things. For some reason, in reading the novel, you don't hate this guy even though he does things that are unmentionable. They are horrendous things. My job is to kind of make that translate, so as a viewer you end up not making excuses to like him, but you don't hate him like you should for doing the things that he does. It's a tough one. It's hard.

Later, Butler was asked about the rumors regarding the "Tales of the Black Freighter" subplot from the Watchmen graphic novel being spun off into a DVD -- and whether or not he'd be up for a role in either film:

I know they were talking about that and at one point that part was cut from the film because of budget, but then they were talking about it again so I don't know. They are right in the middle of the main body of the film and at this point I'm not sure. But even a tiny little thing I would do for Zack Snyder. He's my boy.

Watchmen is scheduled to reach theaters on March 6, 2009.

Sounds like Morgan knows what I'm all about :)

And gosh, if Butler is the star of the Black Freighter, it just might give Snyder the clout he needs to cut it into the movie itself.

Man I can't wait for this movie!! Honestly though i could care less if they have the black freighter thing in there. I read the book three different times and and the second two times I just skipped over those parts. I understand the whole parelell tones and whatever but I just didn't give a **** about some pirate comic book a kid was reading
