Ratner Talks "X-Men" and "Rush Hour" Sequels
by Scott Weinberg | March 27, 2006
Discuss Article
IESB.net's Movie Reporter had a rather intriguing interview with filmmaker Brett Ratner recently, and the guy offered all kinds of dish on "Rush Hour 3," "X-Men 3," and the various spin-offs that are planned for everyone's favorite team of mutated crime-fighters.

"Q: Beyond X-Men you are looking at Rush Hour 3...

BR: Yeah I am going to do Rush Hour 3 next.

Q: Where are you shooting?

BR: New York and Paris.

Q: You mentioned that you are looking for an Indian actress, a really hot Indian actress to be in Rush Hour 3.

BR: I love her, Aishwarya Rai, the most beautiful woman in the world.

Q: Would you cast her?

BR: I am trying to right now. She's the most beautiful woman in the world and it's my dream to put her in the movie, Aishwarya Rai is considered to be the most beautiful woman in the world.

Q: Everything is lined up and everything is ready to go, you are in pre production?

BR: Jeff Nathanson, who wrote the first and second [Rush Hours films], Catch Me If You Can and is currently writing Indiana Jones 4 right now, wrote Rush Hour 3. I'm so excited, When I read the first 50 pages and it's was some of the funniest shit that I have ever read in my life. I cannot ... wait to shoot this movie.

Q: What can we expect from Rush Hour 3?

BR: Bigger, it's just funnier, everything. Rush Hour even has heart, they have emotion, you care about these characters. You know these characters. So it's just gonna go another level, the stakes are going to be raised. Hopefully Chris Tucker's character is going to grow and learn something from this experience and Jackie Chan as well. Prepare to laugh from beginning to end."
---

I love how the guy has to mention "most beautiful woman in the world" three times, as if it's a proven fact or something. Ms. Rai is, of course, drop-dead stunning, but maybe I consider my girlfriend "the most beautiful woman in the world," y'know? Also, and I hate to be nasty but, "prepare to laugh from beginning to end?" From a "Rush Hour" sequel? Methinks the Ratner has a knack for embellishment.

Anyway, X-fanatics and Rush Hourers will want to read the whole interview to get all the dirt. Me, I'm trying to stay spoiler free for "X-Men: The Last Stand," which opens on May 26th.

The same guy who suggests that Chris Tucker might learn something.

... and my hope for X3 slowly dwindles away.

Whatever. I finally believe he's done X3 justice after seeing the trailers. I won't let his ego mess that up for me.

I have to agree, Aishwarya Rai is the most gorgeous woman in the world! Hopefully she'll be doing some cool stuff in the movie. But yeah, those quotes were really atrocious on Ratner's part.

Chris Tucker learning something...like knowing he's not a big name? Puh-leez! What has he done since RH2??

Why are you concerned? He chose not to do anything since RH2. It was his choice. His money train is long!

Chris Tucker is hilarious. With him and the original writers on board this movie has to be funny, there is no way it can't be.

I'm going with my girlfriend as the most beautiful woman in the world, although I'm sure your's is super fine Scott. And I think there are some hotter actresses than Rai or the three that aknddon3 mentions.

lol dylan, very funny! Aknddon3, it's quiet subjective isn't it? I do think that Alba is gorgeous. Simpson and Longoria are not in the same league, they're good looking but that's it. This indian girl has amazing eyes but I don't know. She's the kind of girl that you love to look at, but she doesn't have much sex appeal.... well anyway, it would be good to see her in an American movie I guess...

Eva Longoria is too skinny and too flat chested, but she was good on The Young and the Restless.

HAHAHAHAHAHA
You must be joking, i mean natalie portman is goodlooking but she has no sex apeal, Jessica Alba, Eva Longoria, and Jessica Simpson are so much hotter that it is not even funny. I would add Angelina Jolie with them but she is too weird and has like 20 kids.
