Producer Parkes Promises a Smaller-Profile "Ring 3"
by Scott Weinberg | May 27, 2005
Discuss Article
While chatting at the press junket for Michael Bay's "The Island," producer Walter Parkes told Variety that the next "Ring" sequel will be "by its very nature a small, intimate movie," which is an odd thing to say about a horror series that features ravenous reindeer, but oh well. This might be a businesslike way of saying "lower budget and no Naomi Watts," but at the very least you fans can rest assured that there will be a "Ring 3" some time soon.

Well i was only pissed off that The Ring Two didn't scare me, the only thing watchable was Naomi Watts. And now she is going.

I felt the Ring 2, though not nearly as scary as the first, was an interesting story that added depth to the story we already knew....but it obvious a 3rd one will suck bollucks...especially without Miss Watts

Well, even though Naomi Watts was the best thing about The Ring 2, I think that after the sequel her story with Samara is already done and making her return would be forced and derivative. I prefer a brand new start, but make sure this time it is really scary, as the first movie was, or don't make it at all !! By the way, I can't wait to see the American version of "Dark Water"...

The first film was really good, and the japanese original was amazing too, every other sequel they have done has failed miserably to live up to the originals, why would they even bother to try a third!! They would need to get an amazing writer and director to redeem themselves! And who on this planet could possibly live up to Naomi's role?!!

The third Japanese 'ring' movie was called ring 0, and the story gave the background on Samara tec, even though much of this has already been covered it could still make for a good movie.

If it's going to be more of the same crap DW forced us to suffer through in Ring Two, dressing it with antiquated horror gimicks, then I will fill a restraining order on myself to prevent me from stepping within five-thousand yards of the threatre.

I'd honestly rather watch Friday the 13th part 12 than another Ring sequel.

On the bright side, The Ring 3 could surpass Jason X as the worst horror movie ever. On second thought it couldn't possibly be that bad...could it?

Never saw Jason X... is it worst than "Freddy vs. Jason" ?! I don't think it is humanly possible, except if you're Uwe Boll.

No words can describe how pathetically stupid Jason X was.

i think that they should make it a prequel. like how the samaras mom(anna morgan) reacts to samaras behavior. but i think the ring 3 should be, if the are going to make it, 10 or 15 times scarier than the ring and the ring 2. i think that it would be stupid if they made another movie when samara comes back. if you watched the ring 2, Naomi closes the well at the end, so it would be stupid to make her come back.
