Clooney & Coens to Reunite for "Hail Caesar"
Apparently the latest issue of Vogue Magazine is being credited with the scoop, but fansite CoenBrothers.net broke the news about two months ago: George Clooney plans to reunite with Joel & Ethan Coen on the period comedy "Hail Caesar," which "will follow a troupe of theater actors in the 1920's putting on a play about ancient Rome."
Mr. Clooney says this flick will complete his "idiot trilogy" with the Coens, following their collaborations on "O Brother Where Art Thou?" and "Intolerable Cruelty."
Production on "Hail Caesar" has not begun just yet, because Clooney's a busy guy, but it's nice to know he'll always make time for the Coen boys. (And after films like "Fargo," "Miller's Crossing," and "The Man Who Wasn't There," it's only a foolish actor who wouldn't want to work with the Coens.)

kubrickfan writes: on Sep 09 2005 09:32 AM I like clooney. Without him, Inttolerable cruelty would have sucked! Not that it was great by coen standards, but he at least made it enjoyable. Of course the dialog was written well, but it was his facial expressions and line delivery that kept me laughing. And he was awesome in o brother. I do agree though that bridges is awesome, and I would love to see him do another comedy again. Also, Giamatti would be a must see in the lead of a coen movie, hopefully that will happen some day. It's on a Clooney fansite Coens fansite didn't post until July 11 2005. Long after Hollywood Reporter, Reuters and the aforementioned Clooney fansite. (Reply to this) |
