Trailer Bulletin: Dead or Alive
by Scott Weinberg | November 23, 2005
Discuss Article
Just this week we learned that Dimension Pictures would be distributing Corey Yuen's adaptation of the "Dead or Alive" videogame, and now comes the all-new teaser trailer, which is accessible at good ol' ComingSoon.net.

"Directed by Corey Yuen ("The Transporter"), the film is targeting a Fall 2006 release date. Devon Aoki, Sarah Carter, Natassia Malthe, Matthew Marsden, Jaime Pressly, Eric Roberts and Holly Valance star.

The movie is based on Tecmo's bestselling game franchise. It centers on four female fighters in a competition to the death on an exotic island."

Click here for the trailer, which is laden with hotties, baddies, and roundhouse face-kicks.

those games fucking blow ASS anyway.

the best fighter series has to go to Soul Caliber. Tekken is up there too if you don't care about playing as a tree or giant panda o_0

DOA is the best fighting series on any console. Soul Caliber comes close and Tekken has gotten way old.

looks more like porn for the "under 18" sect, and not because it's based on a video game but because the whole movie looks like one big cocktease with all those hot chicks and the likelihood of no actual nudity.

then there's the fact that the whole thing looks like a total Charlie's Angels ripoff. and when you're ripping off a franchise that burned out after its SECOND film only TWO years ago, you know you're doing something wrong.

no, Super Smash Bros is the best fighting series on any console. DOA is..mediocre, which is what this movie will be. i know it, you know it, everyone knows it. let's move on. surprised i'm not seeing Uwe Boll's name written all over this for once, that i will give to you

I sorta think a American-made movie adaptation to a Japanese video game like this is impossible to pull-off.

Yep! An excellent cast of fine actors if I ever seen one! I'm sure the only reason they were picked for their roles was for their acting talent, not, say, the size of their, um, assets. Or how cool their samurai sword poses are.

This is what you get when you rip off Charlie's Angels, Hero and House of Flying Daggers and cram them into one movie. Doesn't look like there's going to be an original idea in this whole film.
DOA looks like a heaping pile to me.
