Halle Berry Ponders a "Catwoman 2"
by Scott Weinberg | May 15, 2006
Blog Article | Discuss Article
Summary

When asked in a recent interview if she'd be willing to sign on for a "Catwoman 2," Oscar-winning actress Halle Berry ... actually said something OTHER than "Are you kidding me?" or "Don't be insane." As a matter of fact, she actually sounded a little interested in the idea!! Back to Article

Better villian, actual PLOT, and a new costume and I'd be game...

Someone should take her Oscar away
I would think, as an actor with a descent career in movies, that Halle Berry would want to get as far away from Catwoman as she possibly could. I imagine that she would hope the topic never came up in conversation. And maybe, if she was lucky, she would make a lot of other good movies and people would forget that she was ever in Catwoman. Instead, she wants to make a second one?!? Seriously?

Well, she sounds like she wants to make a better one. Maybe they'll dump Pitof and get someone like Christopher Nolan to direct it.

Christopher Nolan can't do everything!!!
The solution is always "give it to Christopher Nolan"

Yeah, here's a better way: cast Michelle Pfeiffer and make the movie 12 years ago.

Berry HAD her chance, she failed.

Cast someone new, get a new writer, new director, new everything. Start over. Use the COMICS to write the story.

If Halle Berry wanders on set, shoot to kill. I repeat, SHOOT TO KILL.

I think that her Oscar should be taken away, too. First off, I don't think that she deserved it when they gave it to her. Since her performance, she has done nothing to prove that she is an actress worthy of good ol Oscar. Yet, she is not the only one that needs to have the Oscar taken away. I am sure that everyone can think of a few.

As for a new Catwoman, no thanks. It is the biggest loser of the comic book realm as far as budget to domestic gross comparison. It lost more money than Elektra!!

Well come on guys, at least she had a decent answer. She didnt slam the movie and she didnt praise it either. She said what she didnt like and how if they changed that, she would definatly do another one. Thats pretty respectable.

BTW, if the second one starred her and it was a porno, it would have probably grossed more then the original catwoman did. I would watch it. alot.

respectable to the movie? well, considering she called it a "piece of shit" at the Razzie Awards, i wouldn't call that respectable.
now that she IS trying to be respectable to it, maybe she is hard up for work, now that X3 is done and over with.

It could work if they actually used some of the comic villians and could tie it together with the Batman Begins series because at the end of the first one the prisoners had escaped and were not caught. They have a lot to work with if the do not mess it up.

I'm glad she admits to the fact that Catwoman was a mistake. I'm glad that they all learned from their mistakes. I still dont want to see what exactly they learned.

I prefer Halle Berry as Storm in X-men than catwoman. She should stay clear of that franchise.

I think the answer is, they Should also get Jennifer Garner involed, have an Elektra vs. Catwoman naked mud wrestling match. I think then you have a movie worth watching, the winner is considered World Champion of shitty super-hero chick movies

Just goes to show you that sequels are driven by box office. CatWoman did well at the Box Office so.. boom!!.. sequel in the works. The fact that alot of people went to see it but then proceeded to trash it as one of the worst movies made doesnt seem to factor in at all.

I wish it did. Well, if they do make a sequel, I hope they LOSE money on the deal.

I think EVERYONE is forgetting the very lovely and Oscar winning actress Angelina Jolie who did not one but TWO Tomb Raiders that really didn't live up to expectations (SUCKED ASS). Not to mention a few other crappy movies "Beyond Borders" "Life or Something Like It" even "Alexander" for goodness sakes! But her saving grace was "Mr. And Mrs. Smith". But let Ms. Berry try another Catwoman if she believes it WILL be a better one than the first. Everyone seems to be forgiving Angelina for some reason....

NO, No, NO 1,000 times No. How she got any award for her acting is beyond me. She is a horrible, horrible actress, especially in the X-Men franchise. The original Catwoman was horrible enough, and didn't even escape the litter pan where the idea belonged. To make a sequel of such a bad movie, Hollywood would definitely be desperate.

Catwoman was not the total trainwreck everyone thought it to be. WELL, at least I told myself that after watching it... but I do think it was pretty aweful. Halle Berry was not at all convincing (or senualy feline) as Catwoman and the villain was just plain under developed and poorly concieved. (I love Sharon Stone though and she was certainly the best part of the movie)

if they do make another Catwoman, I would watch it only if they cast Scarlet Johanson as Catwoman (tell me she doesn't fit the bill as a sensual jewel thief in a catsuit... leather without claw marks, at that) and they have to get it through their heads that more skin in the catsuit is not as sexy as it sounds. A better villain (or two) and the complete cutting of that hip hop music that completely destroyed the mood would also help.

No point slamming Sharon Stone she was the only thing worth watching in the film. On the other hand Halle Berry's performance was atrocious and she can't blame the script or the director, only herself!

Well, Oscar-winning actors and actresses are entitled to one or two or five sucky films for every movie they won the statuette with. Please don't ask me to justify this =(

As for a Catwoman 2... I'll probably see it out of curiosity. Is it going to be better than the first?? Or is it going to be even suckier?? Then at that point I'll start shaving with a steak knife.

catwoman sequel should go ahead as planned
no one will probably read this as I'm posting it way after anybody else, however I want to say this:

I am a fan of the catwoman character and not the film starring Halle Berry, I think the character catwoman character has alot of potantial as the character has a dark side that everyboby likes to watch. This dark side wasn't even touched upon in the truly appalling catwoman film, but in batman returns it was. If the right director who understood the character took the film on it would be better. As for Halle Berry she isn't the greatest actress, but she (like Madonna) has potential if the right director is behind the scenes.

I say don't knock it, until you've tried it.
