Bay Talks About His "Transformer" Toys
by Scott Weinberg | May 30, 2006
Discuss Article
Would you believe Michael Bay has time to post in a blog? Yep, one of Hollywood's most hectic filmmakers has taken to posting "Transformers" updates in his movie blog right here. And so it begins: "We finished our first week. One of the best first weeks on a movie I've ever experienced. We shot over 250 set ups."

Mr. Bay also goes on to describe some high-tech military toys and also how very hot it is in New Mexico. I expect the blog entries to get a little more interesting once production starts really cooking.

Thanks to ComingSoon.net for pointing us towards the BayBlog.

Michael Bay, robots that turn into cars...

Someone tell me why this is so anticipated again?

Who thought Transformers was a good idea? Oh, NOW I get it! Toy Tie-ins! I guess I'm just slow . . .

Michael Bay has a good eye and a desire(missplaced or not) to push sensory overload. New Mexico may be hot, but Bay's storytelling instincts usually are----

This movie won't be good no matter what. Thank you, Hollywood and Michael Bay, for ruining my childhood ONCE AGAIN!

"If he can pull off what he did in (the first 40 minutes of) the Island it should be (kinda good)!"

I corrected it for you. ;)

The rest of the world is gonna love it just like RT will, huh? Like RT loved The Island?

"man you guys are bunch of sheep, its like a pack of teenage girls who have no minds of there own up in here. I bet you guys even do, act and wear exactly what MTV tells you to huh?"

Listen to yourself. I bet YOU are an overweight conspiracy theorist who lives in his mother's basement trying to make himself feel better than everyone else by pretending to have a mind of his own, but actually you're just trying to be like every other "against the man" kind of person that ever lived. Anyone who is stupid enough to try and use "sheep" as an insult is an idiot. And for the record, I hate MTV, and do and act are redundant how you're using them. But just like everyone angry conspiracy theorist before you, you must have 3 points in your argument for it to be valid. Right?

"If he can pull off what he did in the Island it should be great!"

yeah, if he can shake the camera a bunch and not actually get anything on frame so we can only HEAR the horrible acting, it should be GREAT! The Island was a load of crap, and to top it off, an uncredited, big-budget remake of an equally bad film, Clonus. But at least Clonus was original, sort of.

I normally try not to attack people, but people like you make me so angry, but happy that you wear black and stay in the shadows so I don't have to deal with you.

---

ANYWAY, I'm going to go ahead and agree that this film is going to kill the fuzzy childhood memories of half the nation. The movie is bad enough, but if they make a damn pop/rock/techno remake of the original theme song, I am going to personally hunt down and destroy every copy of this film in existance.

You're really something CrazyGhost. Takes a real moron to pull off a rant like that. I especially liked the misquote in the first sentence. Good stuff - keep up the great work. :-)

I agree. I LIKED the Island. Don't know why everyone's bringing it down. Go ahead Bay, but if you screw it up, don't expect any comfort from us.

Understand what Bay does
We all need to look at what Bay is good for. BIG, OVERDONE, OVER THE TOP, EYE CANDY AND SUMMER POPCORN. Everyone is trashing the Island, but it was a summer popcorn movie with some thought which is new for Bay and that could be why people are having trouble with it. If we should be trashing a Bay movie it should be Pearl Harbor, cause Bay is not a drama director, I believe is one of the greatest action directors ever. So TRANSFORMERS will work for his formula. I agree with South_Park300. We need Bay for this movie for the simple fact that we all want a spectacle of Transformations, and huge Robot battle scenes. As long we the character personalities stay the same, I can live with a few body style changes.
