Boll Gets Seedy on His Next Horror Flick
by Scott Weinberg | June 16, 2006
Discuss Article
Just when you think you've had all the Uwe ("House of the Dead") Boll you can stand, up pops a brand-new press release full of certifiable insanity. Anyway, you know how Boll's next movie ("Dungeon Siege") is based on a video game but is NOT a horror movie?? Well, his one after that WILL be a horror movie that's NOT based on a video game! The versatility is staggering...

Courtesy of SKNR.net, here's the full skinny on Uwe Boll's next project, an "extreme horror" project called ... "Seed."

June 12, 2006 – Vancouver, BC – US Federal law: If you have been convicted to death by the electric chair & survive three jolts of 15,000 volts each for 15 seconds, you get to go free.

Sam Seed, an insane mass murderer, is scheduled for execution at the hands of Warden Wright. Before the executioner throws the switch, Wright steps in front of Seed, “Do you have any last words?” Seed, “ I’ll see you again.”

After three attempts to electrocute, complete with boiling blood that steeps from his eyes, he’s still alive. The executioner, Wright & the doctor collectively agree, that the breathing Seed be pronounced dead. He is bound and buried alive. After biting & clawing his way to the surface, Seed, the blood soaked, enraged madman, is now bent on vengeance.
The reign of violence that follows will redefine the boundaries of extreme gore, physical & mental torture explored through cinema.

Based on a true story. Seattle 1972.

Oh man, that's great stuff. In other Boll-bits:

Uwe will also be appearing and taking questions at the Timeless Destination Convention. Uwe has agreed to appear at the fan-run, charity-driven convention in Vancouver, BC, this August. He will be one of 50 guests invited this year. Uwe will be on stage with his lead actors from his new extreme horror film called "Seed". He will being doing a Q&A. Uwe will be showing clips from films "Dungeon Siege" & "Seed." Studio tours of the film set of "Seed" are being arranged through the convention. All proceeds of the convention goes to "Make-A-Wish" & other charities. Get your tickets and convention info at Timeless Destinations.

(Thanks to Gareth at SKNR for the extra Bollstuff.)

Uwe Boll's continuing career is just further proof that God has a very twisted sense of humor.

Based on a true story. Seattle 1972.

a) Washington state has never used the electric chair.
b) You aren't allowed to go free. They just keep trying until you're dead.

Sure, the plot may have some merit, but why say it's based on a true story. I hate it when movies do that. The only thing true about it might be that there was a guy named Sam Seed that lived in Seattle in 1972.

Keep up the good work, Uwe

You gotta admit though...
It sounds like a great movie to watch while extremely drunk. In any other director's hands it would just be another bad movie... in his hands however... it'll be damn horrible but offer many laughs to those who know how to properly watch his movies (drunk and/or high).

"You are allowed to go free" WHERE IS THE LOGIC IN THAT? I'm guessing this is pulling a Fargo and saying "based on a true story" to try and make the audience feel more shock at the acts being commited in the film.

actually...there's some logic in that
hey...if you didn't die if you were hung by the executioner for a set length of time , you would be set free at where i stay. The rational is that it's an act of God, He had forgiven you. Well. i guess its like commiting suicide by jumping to your death but failing.

Sounds made for dvd anywayz....like Saw ( quality and scale wise)

Yes, but some people can also survive without oxygen for quite a bit longer then most people.

If someone has done something so horrible that they deserve to be put to death for it, they aren't going to let them go no matter what. They're going to kill them, one way or another.

also
c) There were no executions anywhere in 1972. A moratorium was in place from 1967 until 1972, when the supreme court temporarily outlawed capital punishment.

They already made this same movie with the exact same story description back in 1989 called 'Shocker'. IMDB it Uwe!!!!!!

Except that 'Shocker' is actually entertaining and I don't think this will be. This will be the same movie with extreme gore (see 'Hostel' for so-called 'extreme' gore) and is destined to join all of Uwe's other pieces of trash.

Otherwise, it sounds like the most entertaining of any Uwe project to date. I'll probably see this on DVD.
