"World Trade Center" Test Screening "Review"
by Scott Weinberg | June 19, 2006
Discuss Article
Anyone out there interested in a recap of a test screening of Oliver Stone's "World Trade Center," even though the flick isn't even finished yet? Personally I'm not a big fan of "test screening reviews," but if they're something you dig, check out the goods on AICN.

"World Trade Center" is the second studio production about the 9/11 tragedy, following Paul Greengrass' "United 93." Opening on August 9th, the film stars Nicolas Cage, Michael Pena, Jay Hernandez, Maria Bello, and Maggie Gyllenhaal.

I really liked United 93; let's hope this movie isn't that much of a leftdown.

Reading the results of the reviews, the most positive aspect to me was that Stone apparently doesn't go on any liberally biased, unfounded and unsubstantiated conspiracy theory tangents.

"liberally biased"

Man has that phrase really been shoved down everyone's throats that everyone uses it now. I'm not knocking you, I just find political pundit catch phrases funny, and this one seemeed to fully integrate into contemporary vernacular.

Not having a score can really change the affect of the movie. i really can't tell if this is going to be good or not from the trailer, or the review. I do agree that a movie can never really capture 911. United 93 seemed to capture the confusion and slow realization of what was going on, and the shock and hopelessness that followed this realization. I wonder if WTC can do any better?

I was hoping for a 9/11 version of JFK. I guess that is not what we are getting.

I will never forget General Custer, or the crossing of the Delaware river, or the 10 different pictures of musical instruments I found on the back of my Rice Krispies cereal box this morning. In addition, I plan to learn Italian and then never forget that as well.

USA.

Oliver Stone is a Hack
Oliver Stone is going to soap box this tragady to bash the US. I'm sure he will ignore any truth about 9/11.
