"Lost" Star Found in "28 Weeks Later"
Harold Perrineau, best known as "Michael from Lost," has signed on to co-star in Fox Atomic's "28 Weeks Later," which is (of course) the highly-anticipated sequel to Danny Boyle's "28 Days Later." Mr. Perrineau will be starring alongside Jeremy Renner, who was last seen in "North Country."
From The Hollywood Reporter: "Harold Perrineau, seen regularly on ABC's hit drama "Lost," is ramping up his film career. The actor has lined up three film roles in recent weeks, in-cluding Fox Atomic's "28 Weeks Later," the follow-up to the hit sci-fi indie "28 Days Later." In the sequel, directed by Juan Carlos Fresnadillo ("Intacto"), Perrineau will play an upbeat American Special Forces pilot who documents and leads to safety the families returning to London after the viral outbreak."

Those who gave up on "Lost" midway through season 2 (raises hand) will no doubt remember Mr. Perrineau as Link in "The Matrix Reloaded" and "The Matrix Revolutions."

Mikeal420 writes: on Aug 31 2006 05:28 AM Awesome He is a great actor and unfortunatly his character on Lost is too under-developed. I remember him on "Oz" that wholesome show about prison life on HBO. His character brought a frantic philosophy to life in Jail while bound to his weelchair, he was brilliant. See the show (if you can handle it!!) Echo's from "Lost" (I can't remember the actor's real name off hand, it is VERY LONG) also stared on "OZ" as Adabisi, one of the scariest bad-guys EVER. Id watch ur ass (literally) in his cell. Also, "Lost", did go downhill midway through season two, but definitly picked up again during the last few episodes. (Reply to this) |

Plus, with the way ABC cuts up the show, it is the best way to be sure I don't miss an episode. On another note, Harlod is from "Oz"," but he is not the only veteran TV actor. Locke was on Harsh Realm and Alias. Claire was on Beastmaster. Jin was on 24 and Angel. And lets not forget, Dr. Jack was on Party of Five. I just find all that interesting. (Reply to this) |

unbreakable_samurai writes: on Aug 31 2006 10:30 AM I love Lost it's the best show on tv. Echo's real name is Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje, he's a damn good actor. I really want to like this movie but I still can't shake the feeling that it's going to let me down, with the addition of Perrineau though it sounds even better. Who did a great job in The Edge, and Romeo + Juliet. (Reply to this) |

southfrisco writes: on Aug 31 2006 08:54 PM Best show on TV?? I don't agree with that C'mon now. While Lost is a good network show, it can't compete with the likes of adult cable shows The Sopranos, Entourage, and Nip/Tuck. There isn't much I watch on network TV anymore. Cable has all the quality stuff now. (Reply to this) |

Zengine writes: on Aug 31 2006 10:50 PM Isn't anyone concerned about the fact that there should be NO sequel to "28 Days Later"? It's a bad idea, the movie stands brilliantly alone. Though I guess what burns me most is "Americans" being in the film, I'm so sick of american movie stars. Ah well, it might not suck. (that's my highest praise) (Reply to this) |

I Am Remote writes: on Sep 03 2006 11:08 AM In reply to this comment (#843548) Zengine hits the nail on the head. Why do this? Not only is 28 days later the best zombie movie I've ever seen, it's also an outstanding film with brilliant social commentary. I don't care what hyped up, flash in the pan TV actor they get for it, I would be against it even if Murphy returned. Leave it a lone. (Reply to this) |

He's a great actor. And to the bozo who is pissed about American actors being in it, don't for get that your precious 28 Days Later is basically a variation on American zombie films, particularly Dawn Of The Dead, which without their would be no 28 Days Later. You sodding c@%t!!!! (Reply to this) |

Irishbrwnie writes: on Sep 28 2007 02:21 AM 28 weeks later is my favorite movie. I have no idea why, I just loved it so much and it gave me a thrill in the theater I haven't had in a while. The American actors in it were a hell of a lot more interesting than those in the first film. Plus Jeremy Renner is not like some a**hole George Clooney, he's fresh and I like his work. I just don't like to know personal facts about actors too much because then I like them less and less. Still, he's great and I love the movie. As for the main topic, I like Harold Perrineau, though his charactor on Lost is a moron. He gained back his dignity in this movie. Why can't people accept some extra flavor in life? Is it going to truly hurt you that a sequel is made? If you don't want to see a sequel then don't. The first is OK but certainly nothing great. If there hadn't been a better sequel I wouldn't give a rats behind about the story at all. (Reply to this) |
