A Taste of What's "Next" for Nicolas Cage
by Scott Weinberg | August 31, 2006
Blog Article | Discuss Article
Summary

Any time I hear the phrase "movie based on a Philip K. Dick story," I know I have to do a little more research. The next PKD adaptation is Lee Tamahori's "Next," which stars Nicolas Cage as a man who can see the future and Jessica Biel as a woman who is really, really sexy. Back to Article

I think casting Jessica Biel as a woman who is really, really sexy will not go well with some.

Yeah,
she was in the Illusionist with Paul Giamatti and Edward Norton. It was funny watching her try to stay with Paul and Edward. She basically was there to look hot....

I've been looking forward to this movie for a long time now. And yes Jessica Biel is very hot, and I'm going to go see The Illusionist this weekend. I can't really rank Dick's films though because I've only seen three of them.

Jessica Biel may be good looking, but I'd prefer to have a actress who can actually act.

and my ranks for PKD films are as follows:

1. "Blade Runner" (1982)
2. "Total Recall" (1990)
3. "Minority Report" (2002)
4. "A Scanner Darkly" (2006)
5. "Screamers" (1995)
6. "Impostor" (2002)
7. "Paycheck" (2003)

Is Cage making crap on purpose now. He's more reliable than George Bush saying something stupid.

I'll hold off for the sequel to Captain Correllis' Mandolin.

Despite what anyone says, I think Cage should take a break from movies for a while. Apparently his crap filtering mechanism is a little rickety.

By the way, doesn't this sound like some hackneyed Dean R. Koontz movie?

A Scanner Darkly was incredible... maybe not better than Blade Runner, but right now, it is...

Hopefully this won't split the vote for Cage come oscar time with Ghostrider coming out too.

the academy likely won't give him it two years in a row after his recent "The Wicker Man" is sure to bag the oscar.
