Very Early "28 Weeks Later" Footage!

If you're among the billions of movie nuts who quite enjoyed Danny Boyle's "28 Days Later," then you might be elated to learn that "28 Weeks Later" is hitting theaters next May. And now there's a 'workprint' teaser trailer to gawk at.

Click right here to enjoy the goods over at the Fox Atomic website.

Starring Robert Carlyle, Catherine McCormack and Jeremy Renner, "28 Weeks Later" has a synopsis that goes like this: " Six months after the rage virus has annihilated the British Isles, the US Army declares that the war against infection has been won, and that the reconstruction of the country can begin. In the first wave of returning refugees, a family is reunited -- but one of them unwittingly carries a terrible secret. The virus is not yet dead, and this time, it is more dangerous than ever."

And not to sound like a jerk or anything, but I was actually on the "28WL" set for two days -- and I saw a lot of gore.

Looks pretty good
I thought the first was brilliant, and the second one looks good, but will it be as fresh? (Will the characters be as compelling, the action as real?) I'm afraid of a letdown, simply because the first film was so good. From what I saw, though, it looks AWESOME. I'm such a fan it would have to be downright awful for me to not enjoy it on some level.

Americans saving the British?
Since when did the Americans ever save us, except shoot us in the backs?

I can't stand the use of obligatory standard actors such as Robert Carlyle and I can't stand the thought of a cop out, sentimental McDonalised American-safe ending to this film that sequels to one of my favourite films of all time.

Let's hope this film remains an original, unexpected British classic like 28 Days Later

Oh shut up stoob. Intolerant you are. See the movie before you judge, you'll see we didn't "save you". But at least we tried! What do you and yours do besides sit and whine all day?
