Rob Zombie Profanely Happy About New Michael Myers Look
Now here's a small, weird, but potentially interesting piece of horror movie news: Director Rob Zombie (who's presently hard at work on his "Halloween" remake) just got his first look at the new Michael Myers mask -- and he was so excited he had to use the f-bomb to describe it.
Check out the mini-mini-report at Zombie's MySpace page, but don't click the link of the granddaddy of profanities offends you. Suffice to say Rob's really (really) pleased with what production designer Wayne Toth came up with, mask-wise.
Starring Malcolm McDowell, Tyler Mane, and a bunch of people who haven't been announced just yet, Zombie's "Halloween" opens on ... August 31st??

rustdog writes: on Jan 05 2007 05:52 AM I wonder if they found an old shatner mask to use as a guide? I never paid much attention to the differences in the masks from movie to movie. The good news is if Zombie is this concerned over the look of the mask then he's taking this movie very seriously and it should be good. (Reply to this) |

new12play writes: on Jan 05 2007 06:56 AM I'm perplexed by the August 31st date, too. Why not a mid-October release date? Although Saw 4 will scare away potential horror movies, I think this one could be one that would cause hesitation for which date Saw 4 chooses. Mid-October and you'll have a big audience show up on Halloween (if, obviously, the movie turns out good). (Reply to this) |

Stathis Borans writes: on Jan 07 2007 12:53 AM In reply to this comment (#852351) Yeah, The Devil's Rejects was one of the better horror outings of the past 10 years (I realize the field isn't exactly rife with amazing cinema). That combined with the fact that he is re-imagining one of the most revered horror films of all time makes him damn relevant in the eyes of your real horror fan. A hell of a lot more relevant than some imbecile like Eli Roth. (Reply to this) |

Kid_Ikarus writes: on Jan 08 2007 09:53 AM He was better when he was in White Zombie, as opposed to his solo work. Gotta admit, AstroCreep2000 is one of the best rock albums to come out of the 90's. (Reply to this) |

narcissusbleh writes: on Jan 08 2007 11:37 AM I'm really excited about this one. I would rather have a polarizing Halloween film than an inarguably horrible one, like Ressurection. Can't wait to see pics of this new mask. (Reply to this) |

Housecat writes: on Jan 14 2007 02:15 PM This is going to be a big load of garbage. I dispise with great passion, anything he has done in cinema. I can't believe anyone had any faith to give him such a task...and what's even more pathetic, is that he actually thinks he's a good director and writer. (Reply to this) |
