"The Dark Knight" to Visit Baltimore?
Between two excellent performances in two of the year's more entertaining movies ("The Prestige" and "Children of Men"), Michael Caine has had a pretty good year -- but he's got a pair of pretty promising projects underway: A remake of "Sleuth" with Jude Law and a little sequel called "The Dark Knight."
According to an interview between Mr. Caine and Army Archerd, "The Dark Knight" will be shooting in London, Los Angeles, Hong Kong and ... Baltimore, Maryland!
Regarding that remake of "Sleuth" (which Caine insists is not a true remake), Caine will co-star with Jude Law. Kenneth Branagh is directing from an adapted screenplay by Harold Pinter.

But back to the "Batman Begins" sequel again: Caine claims to have read the screenplay -- but he was only allowed to do so with director Christopher Nolan hanging in the background. (Obviously the production team wants to keep the spoiler material under close guard.) That's pretty much all we have for this update, but you can rest assured that we'll be covering the heck out of "The Dark Knight" for the next several months.

Beastmaster77 writes: on Jan 11 2007 07:07 AM Batman Begins has to be one of the best "comic book movies" I've ever seen. I can't wait to see the Dark Knight. They've got an amazing director in Nolan, and one of the best actors in Christian Bale. They just need to get rid of Katie Holmes, and it would be perfect! (Reply to this) |

Ultimale069 writes: on Jan 11 2007 01:30 PM Actually I can kinda see Jamie Foxx doing two face, i think the scarred up half of his face would go well with his good looking regular side. And if he has the acting chops to go along with the two totally different personalities that is two face, one the charming, handsome, cocky lawyer, the other a raging, cold, moralely dichotomous gangster, do it up. Matanuki writes: on Jan 11 2007 03:26 PM I have to side with lrm8 on this one. Jamie Foxx is great, but if they're going black with Dent -like they did in the original Batman film- then my pick is definitely Terrence Howard. In fact, why not? Look what they did with Ra's, after all. That turned out pretty damn good. Of all the comic book franchises, shaking up the races has thus far worked best with the Batman mythology. My guess is that since the mythology has a history of focusing on deep character, race winds up being pretty much irrelevant. (Reply to this) |

Aampology21 writes: on Jan 11 2007 08:54 PM well while terrance howard is a great choice, has everyone forgotten about the man who played spawn, micheal jai white, he's got the size and the acting depth to play harvey dent and he would over shadow the rest of the cast. (Reply to this) |

Matanuki writes: on Jan 12 2007 06:39 AM In reply to this comment (#852801) WTF?!?! Huh? Since when is Harvey Dent a martial arts muscle man? I've got nothing against Michael Jai White. In fact, he's one of the only things I liked about the poor film rendition of Spawn, but casting him as Dent (?). No way, Jose. I don't think Nolan is on the course for making the same collossal mistake they made with the Victor Freeze casting choice from Batman & Robin. (Reply to this) |

lrm8 writes: on Jan 12 2007 08:24 AM haha yes, everybody forgot about micheal jai white. ive never seen him in anything other than spawn, except for some bad underground action movie for which i saw a commercial for last night while watching espn. i forget what it was called, something like underfist II or something. anyways relating to dent, there are a billion actors out there who have what it takes to play dent. black, white, whatever way you cast it he's such a great character that all you need is acting skills, and the looks can be taken care of later. One guy even suggested that the Rock play two face, and he was taken seriously... i cant wait to find out who they pick... (Reply to this) |
